DSG works dude... Tried and tested...Originally posted by Mindgrinder View Posti have DSG jacket, but i heard cramster is cheaper, i met accident in Delhi a good heavy benetton jacket or a leather jacket can also save your ass enough, but not on a huge crash...even DSG might not work then...

Cramster Raptor is great for 5k!,but i doubt you will get a decent one below 5k...better check the Riding Gears thread.
btw guys, have any of you tried FAZER or R15 RVM's on FZS?by fixing ii on those screws on the visor?
im thinking abt changing to them since i find the current one a bit hard!Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

Misalignment is simply a mistake in adjustment that can be corrected easily.
Deformation is permanent (non elastic) change in shape of a component.
A deformation of the rim is difficult to correct. A deformed tyre is impossible to correct.
If it's your tyre itself that's deformed, then ask for a replacement under warranty. The FZ's tyre is not a heavy duty tyre though it's a lot bigger than other tyres. It's actually supposed to be weigh only as much as a narrower tyre and its construction is designed for light to medium duty. The load index on it (after the size on the sidewall) gives a good indication of its strength.
It doesn't take much to internally damage a tyre. A hard impact on the edge of a pothole usually does the job. The tyre may look fine on the outside but it's internal structure may have been damaged. This will be noticed as a wobble or vibration at various speeds. Such a damaged tyre is also more likely to burst at high speeds or when overloaded.
Dude, ur arguements seem so satisfyingly correct but @ the same time it makes me worry much more bout my tyre nw since I dint knew bout Deformed tyre concept.. Anyways as i said earlier, Yamaha SCV guys reject to acknowledge it as a problem in my rear tyre so I'v been left with no choices but 2 go for help from local mechanic.. Wat do u recommend??

I realise there's a slight confusion. A damaged tyre does not necessarily mean it is also deformed. A deformation is usually due to manufacturing variations. The manufacturer decides what is acceptable. I think Indian quality norms are much more permissive when compared to EU or US stds.Originally posted by mitz View PostDude, ur arguements seem so satisfyingly correct but @ the same time it makes me worry much more bout my tyre nw since I dint knew bout Deformed tyre concept.. But if you feel the deformation is excessive, then take up the issue with Yamaha or MRF. I can't tell you what can be considered excessive since asking you to measure the deformation is not practical. Just compare by sight with a few other FZ/Fazers and if you feel that your tyre has a problem, discuss it with the dealer. If he tries to dismiss your concern, contact Yamaha or MRF.

Check the ride for scratches on delivery which can be caused in transportation.Keep it below 60kmph for first 1000kms and preserve ur engine...
anyways njoi n ride safe
Got the Delivery Yesterday. checked the bike throughly and happy that there wasn't any scratches.
Thanks for the pointers r@m. checked all before the delivery.Originally posted by r@m View PostHey here are some key points when taking delivery which i suffered and know
1>first of all take the bike in the morning or afternoon dont get it in the evng because you cant make out any scracthes or dents in bike
2>drive the bike for 1/2 km and see if it has any sounds or not because once u sign the form they say to come again another day
3>If petrol bunk is far away from showroom pay them and tell them to put extra litre of petrol[in my case bike stalled in middle of the road 5 min taking delivery
,worst scence to push the new bike]
4>check all the accesories like tool kit medical kit has been given..
and freebies like hat, keychain[if u really want it].
I asked for pointers here no one helped,
buddy i hope u dont face problems in delivery
good luck
One small problem is that the brakes are tight, back brake i got it loosen for the front disc they have asked me to come today...
Hope that will also be cleared.

FYI, the front disc brake cannot be adjusted. The brake lever play remains constant throughout its life and increases only when the pads are excessively worn or if there isn't enough brake fluid.Originally posted by bikerfas View PostThanks dude... its a FZ-16 Black.

The lever&cable play can be adjusted, but the brake itself cannot be tightened/loosened as that depends on the fluid/pads condition as you mentioned above.Originally posted by iamvik View PostFYI, the front disc brake cannot be adjusted.
