Hey guys, Tank pads are 900 bucks in DSG. they are from Keiti. They are actually quite cool. There is only one that is 750 that looks like the pulsars'. I had my eye on the Yamaha racing tank pad (black). Would be quite cool on the black stripe of my red FZ
Keiti Yamaha Racing Tankpad TYM-307 Black - Rs900.00

However I'm quite fearful of it also being a vandal magnet . No chance of that in my office or home. But some where else. Possibility of the losers damaging my tank is also there....

      • My review on FZ

Well I recently owned a Yamaha FZ-S n bike got some pros n cons...
        Am 21yrs n got 12yrs bike experience...
        1st bike was 50cc Honda(Japan)
        2nd off road 50cc(Japan)
        3rd bike Suzuki 125 scrambler
4th bike Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin
        5th bike Yamaha FZ 16 S....

        To begin with,
        1. Fz has good acceleration
        2. Good handling at different speeds..even high speeds
        3. Good looks...

What I realised the bike lacked or didnt like are the following
        1. No rear disc brake
        2. No oil or water cooling
        3. well all my friends complain being uncomfortable but who cares, i bought the bike for me.... either shut up or come by auto....
        4. Most important is the bike has great acceleration at 5th gear and feels like u wnt to go to 6th.... As per my experience, I feel that either the gear ratio was not done by Yamaha good enough so as not to achieve more speed or Yamaha deprived the FZ a 6th gear which would make it the killer bike.... I believe that their is much power the engine wants to give but due to 5 gears or the gear ratio, the bike aint going fast enough....

lets see your idea about this issue....
I'd rather be fast than invisible!!!!!

        Bikes previously owned n models
        Honda 50cc 97 - scooter
Honda MTX 50 - off road
        Suzuki TS 125s - Scrambler
Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin - The massive adventure bike, tourer, off roader n dessert stallion.
        Currently
        Yamah Fz-s...

I feel the same, buddy. We buy Yamaha fz and they make us the lord of the streets......
The bike is light weight, has good suspension and stabililty and gives you a hell of a confidence to take on the busy cities. My only concern is the mileage. If all these features were to give an assured mileage of 50 plus, it would be the perfect bike. I am getting 45-48 average. The maximum is 54. My opinion on ur issues would be.

          1. The rear disc brake. When I brake, I use the front and back simultaneously and the bike stops wherever I want to. So I haven't felt the need.
          2. Cooling is an issue. The advantage of oil or liquid cooling comes at much more performance bikes and would be better.
          3. Seating comfort is great for the rider and for the rider only. For the pillion it is uncomfortable.
          4. The 6th gear is an essentiallity for cruising purposes. There is the need when you are moving at a constant speed on highways.
          Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

for the first comment...some ppl have felt engine heating in traffic...so maybe something that can be thought of...

Mine had the "tank bra". The previous owner had it fitted. I removed it once I realised that it was scratching the tank due to dust build-up under the cloth.
