Hello all.............
Hi,
After 6 months, am returning to this forum... Quite a large no. of posts in the FZ thread.. Been on a hectic work schedule..
I just wanted to have a clarification on a small doubt.
My FZ is Kerala registered. Since I am now posted in Chennai, I would like to bring the bike here. Please answer my queries.
1. In brief what are the procedures to bring a KL bike to TN?
2. I plan to use the bike for a maximum for 1 year in Chennai. So is TN registration necessary?
3. Regarding NOC?
4. Is it safe to bring it by multiaxle-volvo?
(And finally... many of my friends here simply start riding with KL reg without any of these formalities.... Is it advisable to take the risk?)Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

You will need an NOC from your RTO and you will have to pay the road tax in chennai ... Nothing else would be necessary .Originally posted by vinchel View PostHi,

Well you can ride without all this , but then incase the cops take a fancy to you , you will have a problem.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

How much would be the road tax approximately? and can I go and pay it.. Because the RC book is in my mother's name....
(Here the cops do take an extra fancy toward non TN numbers so they will ping you even if u have all the docs...)Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

Now to the checklist :
Verify all the registration documentation and see that they are all complete. Verify that your name,registration number, engine and chassis number are proper in all the documentation (registration and insurance related documents).
Check the headlights,indicators,brakelights and make sure they work and respond properly.
Take a small ride and verify that the speedometer and tachometer also work fine. And lastly,check the whole body for any scratches.
The crash guard has saved me lots of bruises and almost 4k of repairs..so it's your choice
Good luck

Thank you for the immediate reply and i am happy that i can have my queries here at any time.

i was in dilema of buying rtr180 and karizma and fazer and finally booked my fazer for LOOKS,SMOOTHNESS,better FE than other two{if am right}
some of my doubts on ma new bike:
* both lights cannot be glown at same time,showroom guys told me electrical alteraions may be done.my friend owning fazer told me the switch can be kept in middle position ,but my doubt is whether the switches hold on to that middle position during rides or need electrical alterations.? Is id adviceable on new bike{opening electricals}
*whats the 7-step adjustable suspension,whats use of it?
*what will be the apt RPM to get decent mileage and what can be the expected mileage at different speeds/RPMs
*can be number plate in front can be removed from fairing and placed any where?
Thanks in Advance

Well,FZ/Fazer does have better FE than karizma but not rtr 180Originally posted by rumailingme View PostThank you for the immediate reply and i am happy that i can have my queries here at any time.

*Many people have done the electrical mod and have no problems..so if you want you can go ahead with it,the switch in the middle is tricky and will go off position if you hit a bump..it might also damage the switch(not sure)..
*The adjstable monoshock can be adjusted to either give you better handling,sacrificing ride quality or better ride quality,sacrificing the handling.It is set to give the best balance of the two in stock.
*For best FE shift up at 3.5k to 4k rpms and downshift at 2k rpms..you will get 40-45 thats what I was getting during run-in..never ridden her that way after run-in
*You can get a sticker and put it on the front fender..although in certain cities cops will catch you for it.
Don't rip her too much during the run-in..save it for later

Yup..
just nw i called up to my dealer and ordered for crash guard and foot rests.
my friend and me planned to buy/make a engine scoop for preventing mud and sand from getting caught in middle of those segmentedengine walls.
is a engine scoop advised ? since it is a air-cooled one.

Looks real nice. Make sure it has adequate mounting options. I have Nelson Rigg's Tail & Saddlebag. They have good mounting options. Used the tail bag few times on very rough rodes..didn't move by a cm. Yet to try saddlebags. But you have to procure it from US.Originally posted by shv18 View PostI am using Roadking Saddlebag... good one but i would recommend this one: Get Off - The Store
