^^ actually wd40 is not a lubing agent but a cleaning agent, so it might work but i am not too sure and if I were him I wouldnt take the risk and wash the brakes with water itself....Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

it will increase....Originally posted by rohan_5013 View PostYeah but that is very conditional..depends on incline, wind etc,etc..I don't think top end will increase with big bore only the pick-up
my reasoning:
with the big bore the power output will increase and with the same gearing the power to rpm graph will move in the upward direction which will in effect increase the power output in the higher rpms as well.
although to better increase the power output in the higher revs one needs to do the 15t mod.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

even my knowledge on the technicalities of a bike is limitedOriginally posted by rohan_5013 View PostHey man I don't think the top end is going to increase..I have limited knowledge on this but the gearing must be still the same..hence same top speed?Experts please clarify this..
so i've put across as i see it.
the rpm:speed ratio is still the same.
will put in a few more miles after the oil change. observe & report.
btw any of you have the fuel lock in your bikes? price & will the service centr guys have it? some low life wiped my tank clean couple days back

NO chance. . . With a bigger bore the bike ideally does higher speeds at lower RPMs . . As per my knowledge the bike almost does a solid 10 kmph more than what the stock does at the same rpm . . Another difference u should ve noticed is that in 5th gear a stock fz can be ridden at speeds as low as 20 - 25 kmph where as a big bored Fz cannot go below 30kmph without it start starting to chug. . .!!!

WD40 got lubing agent too. It's an absolute suicidal act using itOriginally posted by kinshuk.arya View Post^^ actually wd40 is not a lubing agent but a cleaning agent, so it might work but i am not too sure and if I were him I wouldnt take the risk and wash the brakes with water itself....

As i have mentioned before i guess ffe's will bring out more of your bike... probably the stock exhaust is hindering the capabilities of the big bore.. Joel can throw a better light on this one..Originally posted by Duoscribe View PostBig Bore: the story so far
finally completed my running in. made a dash till kankpura this morning to finish the 70odd kms that was left. early morning rides are so refreshing. taken a while to complete the running in, all thanks to the b'lore weather.
now coming to the big block. after the installation, the response from the engine is very good. the difference from the stock is very substantial and noticeable. the FE has also gone up (i've not calculated but it shows). the big question about the top speed. well i was disappointed. it maxed out at 110 on NICE rd
there's a catch to it but not sure about its impact level. i'v still not changed the engine oil (as instructed to Joel to change the oil after running in). the current oil is full syn agip and is about 1k old. will have it changed by the next week and see how it goes.
the good thing is it reaches triple digits pretty fast.
cheers!A quote by a toilet, " use me well, keep me clean, i would never tell anybody whatever i have seen.." :P

a mineral oil change for fz is recommended at 2500km. chill and sit back for the next 1000-1200 km....Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostGuys have a doubt how long will a mineral oil last under normal riding condition with little rip
My engine oil is now 1300km old should i go for a change or should i wait till about 1500 or 2000kmTimon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Yeah 130 will be good..will look into it after these wear off..
@kinshuk yeah I was wondering the same thing..must be some crazy ported Dio
, although I had a physical speed limiter hitting me from behind at 110
... I'm thinking it was ported too , I too have maxed out a dio at about 90+ ...

I have removed them now, will put it on for the long rides & also I swap them with Hella's 200FF auxilary lights sometimes. Planning to change the clamps to make it more sturdy & neat.

Hi Paray,Originally posted by paray2x View PostThanks! Will spraying some WD 40 inside help ? I saw that there are some holes in the hub, probably to aid cooling.
The holes are meant for these reasons.
