Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S

    Sorry to go off topic, but I have a silly and a very basic question on the engile oil for my FZ.

    My beast runs in Yamalube/Castrol Power1 most of the times. In the recent times I'm facing some cranky noise from the engine when I go beyond 60 Km speed.

    Please suggest me if I have to change the engine oil or tweak something else. My black beast is 3 years old with 33K Kms run in ODO.

    Note: I dint go through the complete forum, sorry if its already been discussed.

      Cranky noise means? How often do you change the oil?

        hey everyone..

        Couple of my friends were stating there are some issues with the FZS clutch and the company is calling them back for a clutch replacement..!!(2013 model)

        HOW FAR IS THIS TRUE...??

          The noise is quite similar to the chain sporket's when it grows old. I have started changing oil every 1500 Kms. After every service the bike runs good for few kms and starts getting the noise. No mechanic is able to fix it so far. Hope to find a one who can fix this issue.

            Dont know much about this ....will check it out tomorrow coz i also have a 2013 model

              try changing the engine oil.. If you are using mineral, try sysnthetic and see if the problem still presists..
              What oil are you using currently ???

                Hey Team XBHP,

                I have recently replaced the stock headlight with Philips Premium H4 60/55 watt Halogen.
                The light intensity is very good as compared to stock 35/35 watt halogen (Osram).
                Lets see how the battery back is...
                One more thing, I tried to capture the bike mileage and since 3 filling I am getting consistent 52.03km/L mileage on my new FZS... I am using Shell Normal Petrol @ 81 INR/L.
                I my driving is 60% Highway and 40% city traffic .

                    Mine Stock bulb is Osram Made in PRC, 35/35 HS1.
                    Bulb Costed 110, Its original philips Premium 60/55 watt H4.
                    Actually my bike is in rune in period / break in period, I just completed 510km today, 1st service already done and engine oil changed.
                    I am not crossing 50KM/hr speed
                    Even I was shocked by geting this milleage. but again its due to shell petrol, when I tried with normal HP or other petrol , i was getting 36-38 km/l

                      Good for you.. Getting such a mileage.. But the actual figures would come after 2-3 services only.. Pyar that you get the same..
                      my bike has always given 30-35km/L from the start.. No more.. No less..
                      preety cheap.. Looks like normal halogen bulbs are not that costly like nightvision or like that.. Good..

                        I need some information regarding LED pilot lamp and LED tail light.
                        Original Yamaha lights cost 500/- for LED pilot lamp and 1200/- for LED Tail Light.

                        1. Can I get some reasonable LED's for this somewhere in Pune?
                        2. How much it will cost?
                        3. What will be the watt of those?
                        4. How much reliable it will be? Expected Life?

                          Thanks for posting this.. I'm also looking for a LED set up on my FZ in Pune. Plesae let me know if you figure out somthing.
                          In between, couple of days back I changed my battery to Amaron Pro bike rider for 1200 INR. So far it is doing its job quiet perfectly.

                            I didnt got any such issue and no calls from SVC..

                            what is the capacity or amp of the Amaron Pro bike rider battery?

                                Try motul.. Motul 5100, its seni synthetic or motul 7100, it full synthetic.. Members are using both these with good reviews..
                                castrol is not that reliable.. Fake castrol oil has flooded the market..
