Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
The clutch return spring has broken.no effect on performance and handling due to that.but still I got it changed under warranty.the price of it is Rs.50,and the right covering of the engine has to be opened in order to fix it. Also the engine oil needs to be drained for the same reason. Do not even think of a local mechanic to fix that. Torque wrench is needed for properly fixing it. It happened due to bumpy roads.Originally posted by hgps View Posthey guys can any one please tell me what's wrong with this spring. is it broken ? i never noticed it before so i don't know if its broken or it should remain there like that

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, have recently changed to Motul 5100 15W50. The ride feels a bit sluggish. The recommended grade for FZ is 20W40. But, during my initial services, the SVC use to put 15W50 SS oil (the R15 oil). During that period, i did not feel any sluggishness. Anybody with Motul 5100 has felt the same? Can any issues crop up with the same?

I'm using Motul 5100 15W50 since the 1st service of my bike and I dont feel my bike to be sluggish. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
its becoz the motul SS oil is thicker than yamalube SS. thicker the oil .....more harder the pistons may require to oppose the force of oil.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostGuys, have recently changed to Motul 5100 15W50. But it wont b significant change .......check for the AFR and tyre pressure too....Last edited by vimal_hbk; 07-29-2013, 12:28 PM.

It takes time to set in at the idle RPM. This was not the case with other oils that i have used.Originally posted by arijitmaniac View PostI'm using Motul 5100 15W50 since the 1st service of my bike and I dont feel my bike to be sluggish. Can you explain exactly what are you facing?

Thanks. Normally, I try to keep the bike in crisp status. So, tyre pressure and other things are always proper.Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Postits becoz the motul SS oil is thicker than yamalube SS. thicker the oil .....more harder the pistons may require to oppose the force of oil.

But it wont b significant change .......check for the AFR and tyre pressure too....Seems like Motul is denser than Yamahalube which might explain the sluggish ride. But do check your AFR.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostIt takes time to set in at the idle RPM. This was not the case with other oils that i have used.

Mileage is an indicator of AFR.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostThe mileage is good and same as before. Have filled in recently. Lets see how it goes again.

A rich AFR will cause ur engine response to be sluggish. Rich AFR can be indicated by a drop in mileage.
You can also diagnose AFR by looking at ur spark plug.

Agree. But, the condition of the plug looks fine to me. Attaching the pics for your opinion and other fellow members.Originally posted by arijitmaniac View PostMileage is an indicator of AFR.
