IMHO, try doing the chain lubing and cleaning all by yourself. The SVC guys are least bothered to do that religiously. They just spray over the chain and thats it, their job is done.

    Cheerz!!
Ohkk.. That means its not that much required.. Will open it on the next wash.. Thanks..
ya i do it myself.. I just referred to them that they also don't bother do that.. So should we do it or not..

Dont kick the pedal or you will spoil something!!

Downshifting should be done when you are pulling the clutch, not after you have pulled the clutch completely. Its always better to do the downshifting when the bike is in motion.

Dont bang the pedal if its not downshifting, just release and engage the clutch lever. With experience you need to find a spot where the down shifts are smooth.

I can never downshift from fourth/fifth to neutral on a standing bike in garage without moving the bike a little or repeatedly using the clutch. If one is able to do it easily, something is wrong.

By doing this way, i suppose the "khatak" sound when shifting gears will increase, which is not good.

When my gears are jammed & shifting becomes a problem, I slowly release the clutch (for a moment) and the gear downshifts with a 'chlink' sound.

its not like you press only half way.. it would surely cause the "khatak" noise..
don't press it till the end, stop slightly before that and then change the gear..
its tough to do so initially, but it helps in quick gear change..
i tried this while returning home..

I got the point you are trying to make. But, by pulling the clutch and at the same time shifting down might have an effect on the clutch. This might result in wearing of the clutch rapidly.

not saying to shift while he pressing is going on..
what i want to say is that when you stop just before the bottom, then change.. it would be much smoother..

No offence mate, but things like whether to use both brakes while braking, and stuff like that have already been discussed in detail in this very forum. I have seen that you go out of your way to help these folks out. But for them, there is something called as the search option. It definitely saves you your precious time.

                          Coming back to the topic,
While downshifting, u need to clutch in, blip throttle to match revs, drop a gear and dump the clutch. I have been doing this since the time I learnt to ride two wheelers. Servers me well
                          Hope this helps.

i own a yamaha Fzs 2013 model bought this May.
I have had the first service done at Yamaha on the old madras road near Vivekananda road metro station, bangalore !
I am planning for a bike trip of 800 km..!!
so i want my bike to be tested if it is in shape for such a trip..!!

So my question is where do i take my bike for the check, do i take it to a yamaha service center or somewhere else..??
and if to yamaha service center will they do a separate check or will this be accounted as 2nd free service.??

                            Thanks in advance..!!
I also bought my FZ in may 2013, and when odo was showing 677 kms i took it for 770 kms.

From the SVC, get chain cleaning and chain lubrication done.
Since it is rainy season, ask them for fuse. It will cost you around Rs. 40. Also buy an extra clutch cable and accelerator cable.
Since you are nearing the end of break-in period (1000 kms) you may want to change the oil.

When you ride, make sure you give the bike sufficient rest after every 100 kms or so. It gets heated up. Ride safe, all the best !

Okk.. Got your point.. No more spoon feeding.!!

My main query was about the shifts getting jammed..
Well if nothing comes up, will go the svc and try to sort it out..
