I went to the shop where i bought the tyre from. they inspected the tyre and said the punctures were due to low pressure. even after rectifying all the punctures there was slight leakage and it was from the rim walls. there was some dust and gravel trapped in between the tyre and rim which was causing the leakage. they told it was a common problem here. the tyres are fine.
Looks like the rim is bent a bit. Try rectifying the rim and this will sort your problem.

    Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

not a bent rim. The bike lost some air when it was kept at rest for almost 6 months and the dirt got inside sometime after. Now for about 1000km there is no loss of air

I'm nearing 5000 Km on ODO (4920) and my bike is due its 4th servicing in 15 days.

Currently there are no problems with the bike, but I wanted to change the engine oil to Fully Synthetic.

The bike got 3 oil changes (4 new oils in total) all Yamaha Lube Mineral Oil.

I frequently touch 80's on the bike, and I am currently not very happy with the gear shifts smoothness (might be a rider thing though)

So is Motul FS going to better my overall experience? WHat is the price and exact model no: and is it available in most Yamaha Service centers? or Should I buy it myself and hand it over to them.

        Thanks in advance guys

what should I use for cleaning the chain and lubricating it? Read somewhere that WD40 is not to be used for cleaning and engine oil not to be used for lubing.

on the cheaper side, use kerosene to clean the chain with a tooth brush and to lubricate, use EP-90 gear oil..
or you can buy Motul chain lube set..

Get the chain diesel washed and then apply EP 90 or EP 140 gear oil if you have budget constraints!! I personally found gear oil to be more messy than Motul Chain Lube but this time for experiment sake i shall only use EP 140 Gear oil for lubrication and see how it affects the chain likfe and wear. My earlier two sets of chains didn't last more than 15k kms. So this time would like to see if non treatment of Motul and application of gear oil makes any difference. What i have found out in Mumbai, the monsoon season does maximum damage to the open chain system as the sea water by default is extremely corrosive. Hence WD 40 for the switch gears and any of the parts where i see a possibility of rust formations while the chain gets treated with Gear oil.

A 500 ml can of EP 140 gear oil is for 125 bucks and is available in any of the Petrol bunks in and around Mumbai..

              Hope this is helpful

              Cheers,

and when this happens.. in which gear you ride the bike ??
if you ride in higher gears at low speed.. this might happen..

                  Ride safe and have fun.

                        Hello my friends...please help...
I am 5'4.5" guy and age is 19 ... Yamaha FZS is supposed to be my first bike...
but my parents are refusing me to buy this bike because of 150CC...and low mileage...

So is there any way that I can convert engine to 100/125CC ?
...my friend having CD DELUX tells me that is possible on some bikes which causes low power but better mileage...

If this is possible only then my parents will buy me FZS...

And one more Q... As I told earlier... this is supposed to be my first bike...I drove CD DELUX one time with little clutch jerking at gear shifting ... so if I buy FZS then my learning rides can causes engine damage ? and anyhow I want to get 45+ mileage...no matter if engine power decreases ...

(please don't tell me to choose 100/125CC bike because I love the style of FZS...like u...)

Then you will be wasting your money. never heard of someone who wants to downgrade his bike.

You mean to say that, buying a 80k bike and making it a 40k bike . If mileage is your priority, there are many good looking bikes in the market.

If you dont gear shift properly, any bike will give you jerks, be it 150cc or 200cc.

Dude dont do that. Engine conversion is done to Old maruti Esteems with Toyota 1-N diesel engine
Not to be done for Bikes. It will kill them. You can get 41-42 kmpl for Fz if you ride in economy mode. Compromise for those 3 kms mileage and get an Fz.
If you are set to a decision for a minimum of 45kmpl mileage, you can get a Hero Hunk, Honda Unicorn, Hero Cbz X-treme or a Pulsar 150. These will give a minimum of 45kmpl mileage.
Royal Enfield Bullet Standard 350cc 1989, Bajaj Avenger 200-2009, Pulsar 200 NS 2015.

people go for bigger boring and here..

man even if this could be done somehow, just never think of it..
i know how parents can be when asking for your first bike, try to convince them and go for some other choices..
the best would be to buy a hunk or a pulsar.. both will give you a mileage of 45+ km/L where as FZ is oil gulping monster..
buy one of these.. the power output is also good in them and the mileage won't be a bother..
