• FZ16 -1st Service. - No smile on my face.

Hello Xbhpns.
Today my bike clocked 890kms and 29days after I bought it, It was time for the 1st Service. So there i was in the service center while they did the service. Now it's done and I have a few questions please help.

1.How long does it actually take for the 1st servicing to finish. ???

----> Because mine took just 30minutes. :/

2. What all do they do in the 1st service.???

----> Because they only did these things.

* Engine Oil Change.
* Oil filter Change.
* Front wheel rear wheel oiling.
* Chain oiling.
* Clutch adjust.
* Water Service.

"Yowarr Servicing is wokay done Saar"

3. How much do they charge. ???

----> I paid a total of Rs.500/-

4. Do they take it seriously. ?

---> because they asked if there are any issues. And I said front shock absorbers are too stiff and they make a Sound. Break tweeting sound... Etc etc.
unfortunately everything still remains the same.

5. Do I take this seriously. ?

---> because I don't have a smile on my face... What about all the "1st service ke baad the bike feels awesome and you enjoy the ride" ??? -- nothing. It still feels the same. No noticeable improvement.

Please suggest if there's anything else that I need to do. I trust you guys more than the service center after today's experience. Honestly.

rac_devil.. Go for 55/60w bulbs from either osram or philips.. They would be a good improvement over the stock ones..
changing from 35w to 35w won't give you much improvement..
the 55/60w setup can be used on the stock battery without any problem..
gvamsikris..
-tyres.. What you saying.. The stock tyres on fz/fazer are one of the best tyres in terms of grip.. Be it dry or wet..
I don't know about many, but try the duke's tyres.. They are really good in all conditions.. Also go to market and you will find your options..
-spark plug.. No svc will themselves install the products which are not part of the stock bike..
k&n filters are good and there is even a stock type replacement filter available now..
and the spark plugs also.. Iridium plugs will cost you something 550-600 and they do nothing but help you with better cold start..
-battery.. Dont know much.. But the stock should be capable of handling a 35w projector..
-headlamps.. Mate fazer has dual lamps.. Install high wattage bulbs or projectors and see the difference..
also get a kick installed.. Wont cost much.. Better be safe..

if you know any mechanic, pay him 50rs and ask him to check the bike throughly for any defects.. And also as you ride her, feel her and you will jnow if there is any problem..

Ride safe and have fun.
Regards

Can I fit a 140/70 tyre to fazer, stock tyre is 140/60, what will be the advantages and disadvantages.
I have bought a NGK iridium plug for 550.

What was done on your bike is very much common and that is about it unless you have specific complaints. If you specific complaints on the bike like gear shifting, harshness, pick-up, etc., let them know. They will come back saying this is normal. But put your foot down and they will have the necessary done.

vari217.. It is not recomended to changed the steeings of the shockers..
even if you want, yes it could be, but only by a cm or so.. But that would make the ride much stiffer..
why don't you either change the rear tyre, aftermarket tyres increase the height by a couple of cm's compared to the stock rear tyre..
or you can play with the seat..

Ride safe and have fun.

and one more thing is that, will the pillion be able to sit comfortably after placing the saddlebags, coz my dad will also be riding with me.!

so i just wanted to know weather it would be safe and comfortable to use the cramster saddlebags.!

thanks in advance, please do provide your opinions..!!

set the monoshock to the hardest position, it will give plenty of gap between the body and the tyre and the bike will corner/react faster too but even small bumps on the road will break your back

Since you are located in Bangalore, I would suggest you go and check out the BikingSpirit.in store on Church Street.
I havent used their products but their store has some good stuff and they guy at the store seemed pretty enthusiastic and convincing of his products.
They have all types of touring gear - Saddle/tank bags, backpacks etc.
He even showed us pics of their gear being tested in water and dirt.
First impression-wise their gear seemed pretty good, well designed with the rider in mind (thats how they advertise their gear).
I especially liked their modular tank-bag designs. The basic ones start around 1.5k I guess. Not very sure abt saddle bags.
But do go and check them out.

Just a suggestion

Cheers!!
