Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Give for a full service and replace chain and battery. Go for a maintenance free battery from Amaron or Exide. The fuel knob screws should be tightened,or if problem is not solved, replace it.Originally posted by yamahafazer View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Help needed..
Strange noise coming from engine, Fazer 2011, 16.5K kms
20140224 1941131 - YouTube
I had been riding quite fast these days at high rpms. This noise is slowly increasing from a few days.
At high speeds it appears someone is following on RX100 but it is me alone!
Showed it to a local mechanic who diagnosed as timing belt, bush, unable to grip something, something. I dont know ABCD of what he said. Has anyone encountered such noise? He said he cant rectify it.. I have to go to SVC.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Even my fazer is 4 years old. I had my battery changed a year ago. I switched to amaron maintenance free battery, I didn't have any problem since thenOriginally posted by yamahafazer View Post> Battery problems !!
My Fazer is 4 year old Fazer is having starting troubles every winter morning . Even if I ride bike quite a lot the previous day , I don't think the battery is holding charge and the next day it won't start , the biggest problem is that old Fazers don't have kick start
.
I push start the bike ( and it starts within 1 or 2 attempts ) . The battery gets charged on the run and I don't have any problems for the rest of the day but once I park my bike at night and return back the next morning , it just wouldn't start .
The battery is the one which came with Fazer 4 years back . And I have never checked the battery water levels , though once I did get the battery charged at SVC for about 4-5 hours or so but I don't think they did anything about the battery water .
So guys , should I change the battery or just check the water levels . In case of buying a new battery , which one is the best and price?
even while starting on cold engine, just try & hold the starter key bit too long and slowly crank the engine (don't give more throttle in idle speed, which may affect the engine badly
). if you are using twin lamp, it will rip off the battery hence its life will get reduced. I switch both lights on in my r15, it doesn't affect the battery to greater extend and cold engine is lighting fast to start as with the advantage of having ECU.
Switch to Amaron MFB, no worries
Cheers

First check the water level and maintain the level.Charge for few hours and leave and Get the battery voltage checked after around half and hour of charging. If the voltage is less thanOriginally posted by yamahafazer View Post> Battery problems !!

> Chain sound and rust !!
The chain got rusted during the last monsoons ( about 6 months ) , this hadn't happened in the previous years . I believe the bike is running under lots of friction , the chain makes "chik" sound when I leave the throttle after reaching 50 or 60 Km/hr . What's the reason for this sound ? Is it due to chain slack or time to change the chain , it is 4 years old but has been used for less than 9k Km .
> Oil/petrol leakage from the fuel knob
I sometimes see oil spots on the engine and the source seems to be the drops from fuel knob , the knob also has oil and dust sticking to it . Some solutions please .
Off topic : Why I am I seeing a pic of a guy with helmet on and showing victory sign on the left as my profile picture . I am also seeing this picture on posts made by others .
12v get the battery changed else fully charge the battery and use again.
Get the chain properly lubed and cleaned.
And change the fuel cock.I had mine changed too.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I think you unnecessarily worried about the true nature of the typical open final transmission noise, imagine when you close the throttle of the engine half way mark of the speedo (50km-60km) whereas the engine has got nothing to offer hence no engine noise. So a transparent noise will shift into the chain crank wheel revolution,Originally posted by yamahafazer View Post> Chain sound and rust !!

BTW spot of bother only if you hear "kirrrrr" noise in place of "chik" noise, that's indication for you to lube adjust chain tightness
But its always safe to lube and adjust the chain@ every 500kms or even lesser:thumbup:

Once the AFR screw in carb was jammed so just gave it to svc and told them to check for missfire. They changed the AFR screw but the missfire still occursOriginally posted by vinay1552 View PostDude did you open or re clean your cab in any service or plz check your air hose pipe that connect cab to air filter box

Unless you have considerable knowledge on carbs and tuning, do not fiddle with the carb tuning, find a good experienced mech and get the tuning done from him. Still if you wish to experiment and learn, you may try it out but it will take a lot of trial and error rounds to land a proper tune.
Cheers
