Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I guess the fellow xBhpian asked about front brake fluid "Reservoir" and not master cylinder.Originally posted by Mizt View PostAt SVC they called it master cylinder assembly just changed it a month back for 2300.
I guess he is asking about the reservoir which is above front brake lever.

The chamber in which the brake fluid is filled is called the master cylinder, isn't it ?

What did they exactly change mate??Originally posted by Mizt View PostAt SVC they called it master cylinder assembly just changed it a month back for 2300.
Master cylinder costs you around ₹200, nothing more, and that is fitted inside the brake lever.

Am new to xBhp. I own an Fz-16 red with a slight bit of custom stickers. I am planning to do a custom paint job on it. To change it completely. Can I get any website adress where I can see what all are the paint jobs they offer and how much it costs??! I already saw Ghost riderz website and color me crazy sites... any other station down south?? Near chennai or coimbatore. Reliable guys is most important.

Since the thread has disappeared slightly, I would first try to fix it in a lathe machine. If it doesnt get fixed,no other option that to change it. Hope it works! Hate the vibey handling.Originally posted by Mizt View PostIts costs close to 2300rs.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, facing issue with front braking. Whenever i use the front brake, i have to press the lever more so as to slow down the bike, while pressing the lever a bit hard, the front wheel tends to lock up
. This wasn't the case initially. Also, whenever i press the rear brake pedal hard, the bike dosen't fishtail (generally using more pressure on rear brake, the bike tends to fishtail) nor is there any squeak sound coming from it. The SVC guys say that, front and rear brake pads are fine. Nearing 14.5k kms. Is there any issue with brakes or with tyres? Don't feel confident in panic braking situation or using the brake in general condition.

For the front brakes, there might be air in the system, been the lines and the bite should be back to what it was.
Cheers

. So, the bleeding has been on hold since long. Any alternative to unscrew the brake fluid reservoir? Or any other way to bleed the brakes?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
You can bleed the fluid be taking out the blake line itself, but to fill the fluid back into the cylinder, it has to be unscrewed. No other wayOriginally posted by devils_friend View PostWell, i am not able to unscrew the brake fluid reservoir

take it to svc or any mech and ask him to open it.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, My FZ-S third free servicing was done a month ago when odometer was on 4k. After 2 weeks, I took her to tamhnini ghat for a trip. My speed was not more than 90kmph. Few bursts to 100kmph but those were short. I noticed that the engine was overheating. This happened in the morning as well as evening when I was returning from tamhini. I could feel the hot air inside my solid puma shoes.
Experienced the same overheating problem today while coming back to office (16km of commute). What exactly is happening? The engine never used to overheat. This problem started happening after 3rd free servicing. Wasn't the servicing done properly?? I searched the thread but couldn't get any good results.

Check engine oil level. With low oil, engine tends to overheat.Originally posted by enli_ View PostGuys, My FZ-S third free servicing was done a month ago when odometer was on 4k. Take it to the SVc, do not try to use excessive force and damage the screw by slipping the threads, then you will be in for extra expense, get it to the svc, and if they dong it up, ask them to replace it for free.
Cheers

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yesterday my fz-s clutch wire was broken automatically without any reason,I was in 4 Gear. My bike Odo meter is 6,700 Km (1year). As per discussion earlier meet with an accident on 31st December after that bike was given to Yamaha service center and after a week Bike was fully restored not much damage .As changes and replacement done
1. Speedo Meter Changed
2. New handle
3. Fork Alignment
4. Disc Pad
5. Labour Work ... etc
and last
6. 5th Free service
Billing was made around 5,200.
Now the question Arises Is it due to accident that clutch wire was Little bit broken that service Center guy didn't pay attention to it or is just any other reason.
Clutch wire was changed through a local mechanic shop as they charged me around Rs.130 (Including Labour) Should I have to changed the clutch wire again from service center or just leave it.
