300V has got real good response from many bikers. At present i am looking for Shell oil. But, haven't been able to find it.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostIts a city focused bike.. I am not complainint.. But still.. Who doesn't want a few more kms..
Ya.. You right.. It won't matter much..
also, you should try 300v.. I filled you a couple of days back.. Engine seems to be loving it till now.. Engine feels way less stressed..
I would have used it earlier, but it wasn't available here..
Cheerz!!
Not sure what Addrive oil is. Hearing it for the first time. Also, incase any additive is mixed in the oil, the requirement is in ML and not Ltr. If you have been charged for the whole pack, take back the balance from SVC. Post a pic of Addrive here.Originally posted by sachin_v View PostHello People,
Any idea about "YAMALUBE ADDRIVE OIL" ? The svc guys told me that its a ADDITIVE oil used with regular YAMALUBE engine oil. I have been billed for Rs 135/- for it . The bike has a one ltr oil sump and i was wondering how could they add additive oil along with one ltr of engine oil! I asked svc about it and they said its added in proportion but i was billed for whole one ltr of oil and the additive oil both
But engine seems to be running smoother and the heat from the engine is relatively lower! Do share your experience if you have used it and if its really worth and they are doing this with all bikes in my svc center.
14500 kms on my odo n i was billed 3k for this service
Was asked to change the chain and sprockets. Please let me know if everything mentioned below in the bill was necessary.

Addrive oil is additive oil indeed. I inquired about it with svc people and they said it was additive oil. Even i felt that there is no way they can add a liter of additive oil, the oil sump itself is 1000ml.Not sure what Addrive oil is. Hearing it for the first time. Thats one serious bill with cancerous englishOriginally posted by chaosaddict View PostA hefty bill for me, I say!! Is it justified? please pardon the cancer inducing English -
Looks good to me.. But why did you changed to 'pork' spring also ? Was it damaged..?
And was the sprocket set this much costly ? I remember changing it for 1200₹ something a year back.. Maybe i don't remember correctly..
Ride safe and have fun.

Like I said a few pages back, the conditions were pathetic; the PORK oil needed to be changed and yea, unfortunately the sprocket prices have gone up.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostThats one serious bill with cancerous english

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thanks...Originally posted by shv18 View PostMisfire or popping sound is nothing but unburnt fuel escaping from the exhaust port and then coming in contact with ambient air. When this happens, the fuel re-ignites causing the phenomenon. Well one should ideally check the spark plug and see if the readings are showing lean tuning. If that's the case then it is dangerous for the bike in the long run. Enough has already been discussed on this thread regarding tuning and spark plug reading, going to earlier pages will help. One has to make changes with the tuning or reject the carburettor to compensate for the lean tuning if that's the case.
To get rid of the popping sound, you may disconnect the AIS pipe (Air Induction System) which feeds additional air to the exhaust port in order to reduce pollution and burn unwanted fuel.
I am not aware of the environmental norms in Nepal so i cannot comment about the carbon emission norms. But if one requires a PUC or pollution control certificate for the vehicle to be eligible on the roads and periodic checkings are done by traffic police.. chances are your bike will most likely fail the PUC test.
Hope this helps,
Cheers
I learned to tune carburator and kept rich setup just for test but still bike is misfiring. So i think i should do something on the silencer.Recently service center called me and said if i want a catcon from another bike whose muffler broke because of accident. Will go to them after few days.Lets see what will happen after doing the job.

Again mate you are making the same mistake. Popping sound has nothing to do with the AFR being rich or lean form the carburettor. The popping sound happens because the AIR Induction System or AIS pumps in fresh air inside the exhaust vent to burn off any fuel which has escaped from the combustion chamber. When the fuel comes in contact with ambient temperature, it re-ignites causing the popping sound. You must be witnessing the popping sound when you shut off the throttle am i correct?
Yes you can get the cat con installed from a damaged exhaust. All they will do is saw off your existing exhaust and then weld the cat con piece in between. Make sure to check for leaks once the welding is complete or else you will start losing performance and power. With the cat - con being installed you will immediately notice increase in the mid range and the top end dropping drastically on your bike.

Hi, my bike is neither under warranty nor under extended service.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostIf the bike is under warranty period, stick to the SVC. Also, if you have taken the extended service, you will have to stick to the SVC only.
If you find a good local mechanic it is a blessing in disguise. Else, they tend to make the bike a big pain for us.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Read shv18's fz thread.. I thunk i read something similar when they were discussing the carbs.. In Latest 1 or 2 pages.. I don't remember exactly what it was.. You should also check that..Originally posted by devils_friend View PostI read a comment in a FZ group saying "Install P220 carb in FZ and see the difference".
Any clue about this??
