This is one problem prevalent with open chain systems. Now I lube my chain every now and then ~400-500 kms and cleaning will soon happen as you might be aware that I have recently changed it. [preventive maintenance ]

Best is to keep it lubricated by various brands of chainlube available:
Oks chain spray, tvs chain spray,
Some even use ep90 gear oil, motul chain spray

I have completed 10700kms on my bike and I have no chain trouble yet. I just shows a little bit of slack but it's not severe enough to cause any lurching while releasing the clutch. Even while moving at around 25kmph with the engine switched off, she is as silent as a sleeping baby. No sound from the chain whatsoever. Maybe the Bangalore weather helps
The problem with rain affecting chain wear is that water washes away what lubricant (chain spray, kerosene, gear oil etc). And then the moisture hastens the corrosion of the metal. That's why you should lubricate the chain twice as frequently in the rains. The same goes when riding in dusty conditions.
I myself motul chain cleaner and spray in my chain. Lubrication interval is around 600-700kms depending on the season. More frequent during the rains.

      To all,

My chain has not suffered disastrous consequences yet. Its just that it has a very distracting sound which doesn't make the bike sound as good as it should and my mechanic asked me to replace it for the sound to disappear.

I have Motul's chain cleaner and chain lube which I had been applying a lot during monsoon but the fact is that my bike was exposed to rains 24*7 as it lacked shade, be it in college or my parking lot at home. And those who are in Mumbai are well aware of the rainy season out here and the result it has on a bike left exposed during monsoon.

This kept the chain wet for literally 4 months and the chain is in contact with the sprocket which resulted in that suffering damage too.

When the fuel comes in contact with ambient temperature, it re-ignites causing the popping sound. You must be witnessing the popping sound when you shut off the throttle am i correct?
        Cheers,
        Thanks a lot.
Today i got my air induction system checked in service center and got rid from long suferred popping sound or misfire.

                      Hey man,
Its normal for water droplets to form droplet marks... What I did to get rid of the situation was use some sort of polish/wax on it every twice or thrice a week after a shampoo/ normal wash. Apply the polish and buff it.. water marks will vanish and youl have your shining bike right there
You can do teflon coating but at the same time get a polish..

                      Cheers

                        1) Dont let the water stay on the plastic parts. The water leaves marks if left to dry. After you wash the bike, wipe the excess water with dry cloth.

                        2) Dont put water on the disc brake. The same explanation as mentioned above. Also, rust proofing is not required. The bike's engine is already coated. Teflon coating can be done on all plastic parts.

                        Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
