Can the Fazer windshield be used on FZ? Has anyone used it? If so, what are the pros and cons for the same? Also, what T-Spanner do we require to open oil filter cap bolts and driver sprocket bolt?

    Check this DIY thread: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...nd-shield.html
He had used cbr's on his duke. The same could be applied on our bikes. Just a few changes here and there.

    Don't know about the T-spanner.

Yes, i have sen this. But, the windshield looks was too big and kind of funny also. The Fazer windshield is much smaller than this (if i am not wrong). Also, wanted to know if someone has fitted the same on FZ of not.

Did you change the stock with any performance filter? In my case its stock , when I changed the exhaust note is grunty as well. I thought it would go away eventually but its been 3k KMS after the change still the exhaust note is grunty. Changed the filter at 23k on ODO.

I am gonna take the bike for service before doing a GOA trip this monthend. As per my inspection and understanding below parts are to be replaced , can someone give me a approx cost for the below.
                1. Spark Plug
                2. Fork suspension seals
                3. accelerator cable
                4. clutch cable
                5. chain sprocket set
                6. Motul SS Oil
                7. Oil Filter

Please add any parts to be changed/checked for before the trip.

I have heard of the nitro gas filled in the tyres. I wish to know what's the actual purpose of filling it and what impact does it have on the tyres and the overall performance of the bike.
Where will I have to go for this kind of filling and what would be the cost can I use this for my fazer.

I changed it recently and agree that it has become more grunty (i like it that way ). What do you mean by "not smooth as it used to be"??

Reply in bold. Not aware about some parts though. You replaced the Air Filter at 23k kms for the first time??

Why do you want to change the Spark Plug? If it is in good condition, i would suggest you to keep a spare one incase of any emergency.

                    Also, check for the following:

                    1) Play in handle bar.
                    2) Both brake pads condition.
                    3) Play in clutch lever.
                    4) Play in accelerator.
                    5) Replace the fork oil along with oil seals.

                    Have a safe ride.

It is of no use. There isn't any significant change in mileage or so. The only benefit is, you don't have to run to fill the air again and again.

Mine is stock filter...the SVC guy asked me to change it since its 10k kms+.......Smooth means i hardly use to hear any sort of grunty engine sound or vibes on my foot while riding at any speeds except for 55 to 65 kmhp....now even at low speeds i feel vibes at the foot pegs... Do i have to change the tuning for air filter....since new filter will allow more air to chamber and may need more fuel to burn???.... just a thot..!!

Changed it at 10k for the first time and 23 k now. Though of changing the sparkplug because it has been cleaned several times and starting issues occur once again after couple of weeks. Last time when I checked with mechanic he suggested to change the spark plug. Since am going on a long trip close to 2k KMS didnt want to take any chances.

No, dont do any changes to the carb. Check the Spark Plug condition to know whether the engine is running lean/proper or rich. Also, since the ambient temeprature is on lesser side, i assume that the engine takes some time to gain its operating temeperature. If you run your bike at lowet speeds, the engine will surely take time to heat up. Since you have changed the Air Filter recent, o suggest you run some kms and notice the sound after that. I presume, since the Air Filter being new, this is bound to happen.

Someday's back i started my bike, gave the choke and allowed it to idle. To my surprise i noticed fhat, the handle bar was vibrating and i could see the handle bar shaking while the bike was on side stand. I have changed the Air Filter recently. So, i guess there isn't anything wrong with the bike.

                            Cheerz!!

How many kms back have you changed the Spark Plug? I reckon you check the Spark Plug yourself. Since the winter season has begun, you will surely feel some startup issue. The stock Spark Plug costs Rs. 115. Upto your wish if you intent to change it or not. Also, a suggestion, since you would be covering 2000kms in no time. I would suggest you to go for Full Synthetic oil.
