Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yes, it is the front seal that is causing trouble. It affects the handling. Be cautious bro, don't ride bike at such high speeds in this condition.Originally posted by Mizt View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Bangalore guys, what's the best place to get the bike service done? I know the Indiranagar one isn't good. The Marathalli one is their sister venture and so isn't far off. How's the one at mahadevapura?
Or any other third party mechanics in the KR Puram-mahadevapura-Marathalli region?

The handling does get affected. Be careful when you ride over bumpers, potholes, rough roads, the bike my not stay planted. Get the seals changed ASAP.Originally posted by Mizt View Postdid a 240km run yesterday felt it way too hard to manage it

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Update: replaced cone-set. Sorry DIY ers forgot to take pics. Only remembered about photos when I'm already half way through the job.
But basically it's a straightforward job. But it requires a lot of time and patients as you need to place couple of rings(grooves for cone balls) into tight slots. Took almost 5 hours to complete the job.
Anyway the result is a success. That tuk tuk sound and play of the entire front end is gone.
If people with considerable mileage (25+k Kms) facing hard gear shifts and hard clutch, please replace your clutch cable.
Next job is swing-arm overhaul and custom fitting of 200NS number plate setup.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Whats the best place to get it serviced in Hyderabad?
I Live near Begumpet, and tried the Ameerpet Service Station. It was the worst experience, so looking for a good place to service.
Till date Mettuguda service center gave a good experience. But I want to know which else is good and nearby?

The 'tuk tuk' sound you talking about, does this happen when we put pressure on the front end ? over bumpy roads ?Originally posted by christo View PostThat tuk tuk sound and play of the entire front end is gone.

As i am hearing the same when the handle is turned towards left and pressure towards front
And this time, don't forget to take pics
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys, please help me with what I think is a big problem with my 2 month old FZ-S. I have no problem with it riding alone and I am loving it. But when I ride with a pillion rider, twice I have encountered the following problem. Around speeds of 30-40, the bike starts to struggle. Even when I raise my acc. the speed keeps dropping. The sound and feel is like the bike is dying out of energy. First time this happened was jus for a very short distance. But 2nd time, which was today, for some period of time, it was repeating and struggling to move forward until I dropped my friend and returned back alone. Alas, as soon as I started driving alone, it was simply perfect again! Not even one instance of that problem. But this got me really scared. What if it happens again?
I have no clue what the problem is. I have rode the bike perfectly acc to instructions in manual. No rash driving so far. Please suggest me solutions to solve this problem!

Have you put any type of cloth or papers under the seat ?Originally posted by Muthu Palaniappan View PostGuys, please help me with what I think is a big problem with my 2 month old FZ-S. I have the toolkit under the seat, does that cause the problem? :O but why does it happen, only with the pillion ? And happened only twice, while other times had no problem with pillion.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostHave you put any type of cloth or papers under the seat ?

We all have the tool kit under the seat.Originally posted by Muthu Palaniappan View PostI have the toolkit under the seat, does that cause the problem? :O but why does it happen, only with the pillion ? And happened only twice, while other times had no problem with pillion.
Can't say anything for sure. Other members might help you better in this. Since this happens only when the pillion is there, i can't fighure out what might be the reason.
check for this thing again tomorrow.
Do these just to be safe, check tyre pressure, chain slack.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
oh well looks like the toolkit might be the problem itself. The showroom gave me toolkit a day after I got my bike only, and I didnt know where to put it. I jus stuffed it. It seems we have to keep it in the reverse of the seat? But even now I cant find provision to fix it there. What will hold the tool kit in the reverse without falling down when its reversed ?Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostWe all have the tool kit under the seat.

And now will the problem be solved after i take my toolkit out or would this have damaged something ?

Ohh.. Ya, you might have put that in the opening for the air.Originally posted by Muthu Palaniappan View Postoh well looks like the toolkit might be the problem itself. There is a provision for the tool kit to be fixed under the seat with a rubber band. (Not the normal rubber band, its a think one)
