I used DOT-4 oil this time (Bosch)
How old was the brake fluid?

Also would like to ask other riders here. What should be the ideal brake fluid flush interval for our bikes?
I changed mine after 11k kms on the ODO 1year 5months after I purchased my bike.

    Cheers!

I know only about DOT 3 and 4, haven't seen other. I use DOT-4 (clear) fluid.
well, the 'bite' is back have to press the lever much less as compared to before.

It wasn't changed till date, just a few kms shy of 24k. I had asked the svc mechs to check the oil but they always said "saar ye nai kam ya kharab hota, chalega abhi.."
But since it was getting worse, decided to change myself.

Looks like we should change it periodically like other consumables.

      Ride safe and have fun.

        Has anyone tried

MICHELIN PILOT SPORTY TUBELESS 140/70 R17

Buy 140/70R17 Size Michelin PILOT SPORTY TUBELESS Tyre :: TyreOnWheels.com

Appears to be a very good option. Though not the standard 140/60 R17

Is there any other way to open the front brake fluid chamber apart from using screwdriver. I tried opening it with a screwdriver and damaged it a bit. It is too tight to open.

          Cheerz!!

Unfortunately no. Those screw heads can get damaged very easily and we have to really careful while opening them. The first turn of the screwdriver should be done by applying a good amount of downward pressure so that the screwdriver head doesnt slip. If it slips it can easily damage the soft screw. Now try opening it again by applying a good amount of downward force. Or use a hammer and hammer the screwdriver on the screw first before you try to turn it. If it still doesn't work then you have to take it to a mechanic who has to cut the screw out.
Also if you decide to give it another try before going to the mechanic, make sure you have spare screws to close the cover again if you manage to open it.

Can i use chain cover on fz?

It might sound stupid but i dont wanna spend an hour every week.Cleaning and lubing the chain.
Currently i am using Aerosol chain cleaner and lube which did cost me 1000 indian rupees and i am really disppointed with the product.

Lube gets spraid on rim while driving and gets dry within couple of days.

Road construction is going on every where and i have to drive in dusty area.

Go for TVS Chain Spray. Priced below 300/- rs sometime back. Don't know now.
Anyway its good for some 200 odd kilometer riding after which you to apply again.

I wanted to have an underbody exmuffler in fz16 which would not make lots of noise like after market exhausts.I thought of ktm duke 200 underbody exhaust.but to fit it 'I have to remove the expansion chamber in fz..my doubt is-does ktn duke have expansion chamber along with muffler?..if not,is it ok to install without expansion chamber..in short.what should I do to install ktn duke 200 underbody exhaust in fz16

Why do you wanna do that ? Replacing stock exhaust with duke's doesn't give any advantage over stock.

It is not a performance upgrade. Only an aesthetic upgrade, because I have always been a fan of underbody exhaust system.

Anything can be done. But you'll have to buy the duke exhaust, measure things, weld mounting points etc. Also you'll need to bend, weld pipes to fix it on fz. It's a lot of work.

Another thing is, the duke exhaust is designed for duke and on fz it can harm the engine.

Any exhaust system is designed as per bike specifications and as per norms laid down by Goverment to keep pollution under control. Removing the cat-con and fitting D200 exhaust will harm your engine because of misfiring and pollution generated from your bike will be more. Also, all exhaust systems have cat-con and mufflers to keep pollution and sound of bike under control.

Keep in mind that, the under body of FZ touches when passing over a bump (with pillion). So, if you put underbody exhaust, there are chances of damaging it.

Guys, i am facing strange issue lately. While starting the bike in morning, when i pull the choke, the RPM shoots to 2.5-3k. Previously it would stay at 2k. One month back had done the carburettor cleaning job at SVC and the Spark Plug was changed. Everything is stock in the bike. Checked the condition of plug and noticed the tip to be fine with no soot deposits. The only thing is, the starting of plug (after the tip) has turned black.

                              What can be the issue?

                                Leason learned today:
Free play of clutch housing causes rough engine ideal.

I wad facing wrough idealing issue. So went to svc and asked mechanic to inspect carburator. But nothing was wrong with it.
Mechanic started the bike and pressed clutch lever.Bike was idealing ok when cluch lever was pressed. So he suggested to check clutch housi g.
He was right. There was excessive free play of the housing.

He said clutch housing needs lethe work.

Will lethe work correck the problem.?
