    • What is the difference between FZ-S mean green and cyber green colours?

Can someone help me to understand the difference between Yamaha FZ-S mean green and black cyber green colours?

I see image results for both colours on Google and they appear to be the similar to me.

For example, see <Yamaha launches FZ16 and FZ-S with new colors and graphics | Indiaon2wheels> (scroll down to the third image). This is mentioned as black cyber green.

And now, see <Products | India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd.> (mean green is displayed, For a larger view, click "Colour" and click on the "mean green" image).

Black Cyber Green FZ-S displayed below:

The only little difference I see is that the mean green one has a spotted pattern on the side graphics whereas the black cyber green has a curly graphics. Does anyone own the black cyber green coloured bike?

When I asked the Yamaha showroom at CMH Road, Indiranagar, Bangalore, they said they are not aware of any black cyber green coloured FZ-S? Where do people get these cyber green FZ-S from then?

Also, why does the yamaha-motor-india.com website not list the cyber green coloured bike?

I would like to buy the black cyber green FZS because it looks better to me. Can I buy this bike from Yamaha showroom this year?

I have a similar problem. Sometimes after downshifting when I release the clutch everything feels fine. And then I get a khat sound from the transmission. Its as if the gear had failed to engage and then suddenly engaged. But I dont feel any change in acceleration. I mean if the gear had failed to engage the first time I would have known. But there is no such case. The bike runs well, just sometimes this noise comes.
I'm on Motul 7100 FS oil. Oil has completed around 2200kms. Can it be because of the engine oil?

        Cheers!

The 'Mean Green' colour combination is coming in newer bikes. while the other 'Cyber Green' was for last year.
          That's what I think.

You should keep an eye on the oil level regularly.

The chain set is new one.

Is Motul 7100 FS oil? Which grade are you using?

I guess the FZ motor has been designed to use mineral oil. While using mineral oil, the shifts have been smooth with no sound. This is my observation after using Mineral and SS oil. Haven't used FS oil till now.

            Cheerz!!

I'm using 20W50. It is very smooth and this sound is a recent observation.
This oil has served really well.

                  Thanks.
The stock battery is 5A. (its mentioned in the manual also)
Try amaron or exide. I think a member had changed his battery to maintenance free ones.

Ya, if their size is same and can fit without any problem, you can go for 6A or 7A.
MF batteries don't require regular checkup for the level and can be hassel free in the long run. these batteries are seal packed.
Don't know about the price though, you would have to check that through the dealer. They won't be too costly.

Thank you for your response, Nadeem. I am a little confused about what you mean by "last year". Do you mean that the "Mean Green" colour was introduced in 2013 whereas "Black Cyber Green" colour was available in 2012?

Yamaha releases new colour combinations one after the other. And nothing more.
Check with your dealer which combinations he has and choose which one you like.
There is nothing different between the two, except the colour tone. Chill and buy one.

After looking around for months finally got a new rear tyre for my bike. It was hard to get one and dealers kept saying 'no stock' all the time. Apparently each dealer gets only 2 tyres in a month.
This is the new/upgraded tyre for FZ. This model is Revz-M. Guess the previous model was Revz-C or just Revz (not sure, someone pls confirm). The tyre looks to have a bit rounded shape than the previous one.
                            Cost: Rs.4,700 in Bangalore

Yeah even I thought the price was on higher side. One of my friend paid Rs.2,800 back in June. But since I couldn't find the tyre anywhere else, didn't have much of a choice. Its almost expensive as PSD. Changemytyre quotes it at almost Rs.4,000 but not sure if this is the new model or the previous one.
