hmmm i think 2k km is the right interval to change the oil , what type of oil are you on now ? if mineral , then i guess you can shift to semi -synth now , there are varied opinions on this , i'm just givin you mine .Originally posted by k2cool_87 View Posthey guys i have a query....my fz's oil was changed in the 2nd free service at 3000kms ...now it has completed 5000 odd kms ...do i change the oil now or do i wait till the next free service at 6000kms...also if i should change then wat oil should i go for the mineral, semi or synthetic?People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

First of all hi kc cool
In my opinion Just use mineral oil for some more time.
If you are feeling your bike rough or not that smooth you can change it right now on 5000km and if not then on the service.

hey guys , have any of you changed your clutch cable on the bike ? my friends fz clutch cable cut on a trip recently and i thought i had the general idea of how to do it , but i couldn't , so could any of you who have done it explain how ?
@k2cool : i didn't have to make the choice ... i changed at an interval of 1.5k km . stayed on mineral . haven't touched 5k km yet .Last edited by nand15; 01-21-2010, 02:53 PM.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Dude if there is service center near by he could go there. Trying at home with insufficient knowledge can give trouble to him.Originally posted by nand15 View Posthey guys , have any of you changed your clutch cable on the bike ? my friends fz clutch cable cut on a trip recently and i thought i had the general idea of how to do it , but i couldn't , so could any of you who have done it explain how ?

My obsession with mileage continues.....
What is the maximum ever recorded mileage for the fz 16? In city and highway?
I have heard that some bikes like the pulsar 180 ug 2 sometimes exhibited abnormally high mileages of 73 and 75kmpl. So does 150cc bikes like the Gs 150r and cbz. So whats the idea behind this extra high mileage?
Any chance to get our fz's to this level in mileage?Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

dont remember his name....70kmpl is no ways for the fz...u have to find straight roads and no one for miles to even think bout 60kmpl...which is kinda optimistic....i regularly these days get round 40 kmpl(city + highway and economical+ripped driving) that is probably the extent of mileage...
I appreciate ur efforts in mileage and FE.But u gotta understand that wen we bought this bike we knew it was not for its fuel efficiency...it was for its looks,...the torque and the feel of the wide handle bars...sometimes i do drive economical but that is not how this bike was meant to be driven...it was meant to be a mean torque monster...all this leaning of the fuel mixture and stuff is against the true nature of the bike...
PS...these are my two cents...if u feel offended then pls ignore them...sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.

Yup that would be ME , i got 56kmpl , but put into account it was highway riding with the number of gearshifts easily countable on the fingers of the hand . but i generally get around 51 or 52 kmpl on the highway . my bike's pretty stubborn on the city , whichever way i ride it , economical or rip , it doesn't give me anything more or less than 43kmpl . i've tried it .Originally posted by k2cool_87 View Posthighest ever recorded...cant say...but on xbhp there is a guy who got 55kmpl..

I do agree with k2cool anyways , didn't really get the bike for it's mileage now , did we ? the high mileage on those bikes maybe due to the skinnier rear tire and some tuning .Last edited by nand15; 01-21-2010, 06:48 PM.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Well the draining interval for mineral oil is 1.5k km from my side.
Semi-synthetic 3k km
Fully Synthetic 6k km
These are min draining intervals and proves to be good engine condition.Last edited by umeshkumawatsa; 01-21-2010, 07:35 PM.
