Our dealers do not keep the saree guard when they sell the bike.. may be becuse it spoils the look and its not cmpulsory here in SL. still they give it seperately..

I met with an accident yesterday and my FZ got considerable damage. The handlebar is bent, got bad scratches on my silencer and a small scratch on my right side tank, the throttle holder and headlight. And the side mirror is broken.
I am planning to change my silencer cover (both plastic and the metal cover), take the bend in the handlebar, change my side mirror and the throttle holder.
What will be the approximate cost for doing this? And is there any way to hide the scratch on the tank?
My dealer is very costly and he doesn't give a proper bill for that too. Please suggest a good place for my bike to get serviced.
I am in chennai- Anna nagar..
When my bike toppled from a stand still position, the handlebar bent and the SVC guy had a look at the forks as well.. Total damage for me - 800 bux. No idea about silencer cover (the metal and the plastic part)

Q: What volume of engine oil will be required for an oil change on FZ-16?

He he he! My bike literally ejected the saree guard itself. I had it on and rode with it for a good 6 - 7 months and one day on the way back from office i heard a loud clatter when i pulled over n saw it was the saree guard hanging on for it's dear life attached to the bike with one bolt and dangling. Lol! I guess Baby Beast had enuff and just ejected the Saree guard out! The bike looks even better without that lame saree guard.

The cost for plastic part of the silencer is 250 bucks. THe side mirror too costs 250. and to hide the scratches on the tank either go for sticker work or black taping or ata last if its dosnt works den change the panel.

The tuning is screwed badly and engine gets switched off in traffic. It is taking more time to get started..generally it taeks 1-2 sec..now its taking 3-4....Stand is deviated and when i take a sharp turn it touches road..I think they just washed it and gave it back to me..I am highly dissatisfied...pls let me know any service centre where you are satisfied..in Delhi or GHaziabad. Today, I asked the SVC guy, He said that the metal part costs 350Rs and the plastic part costs 500.

For the tank try "supercut"if the scratches are not that deep. or cover it up with a custom sticker!!
The scratches aren't deep but the SVC guy is advising to go for a sticker.

My friend had the same problem, they charged 1000 bucks. I think the handlebar and fork are too weak. But, in my case, the bike goes well in a straight line if I leave the handlebar freely while driving. I fear only my handlebar is bent. And I am not sure about the quantity. They charged 220Rs in my previous service.

Thanks for the info brother. I have to fix it up this week. But, it would be better if I do it somewhere and not in my showroom.

                    • I'm a very happy guy today , you know why ? coz there's absolutely nothing wrong with my bike after it tipped off the side stand ... I had mentioned about a sort of bolt rumbling in tin can type of noise , right ? figured what that was ... the swingarm end cap was loose , which i couldn't make out at standstill and couldn't look while riding , so i asked a friend to ride it n rode behind him , wen i saw the end cap wobbling away to glory .... tightened that and bike's good ... sheesh , a small thing and i didn't figure it out so long ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

                        • Yesterday changed my roommates FZ's rear tyre from MRF showroom which has done 29K+
want to change mine too which is 25K, the rate has been increased from 2500Rs/- to 2750Rs/-. they told me the company has priced it to 2850, but they are giving for 2750, the price has been increased 4 times in a couple of months period.

I met a guy who came to change his FZ rear tyre there and he opted a 140/70(tube) tyre for his FZ... the tyre looked huge when compared to the stock. but while putting it will cause the top end to decrease, so i went for the stock.

                            Hey Binoy,

I have to change mine rear tyre too but don't know the exact distance after which I should go for it. Till now stock tyre has been there for 23k. Should I go for the change now? It has not dreaded away but it slips once or twice while cornering on a wet surface...

Mine is 25K+, Hmmm if you ask me the condition of my tyre its almost worn out, so as of yours which is 23K will be almost similar to mine...

now i found a good solution for cornering...

i just stopped cornering(that's the solution) or else get a new one... jus kidding... i am only changing my tyre after a couple of kms... i think a properly maintained tyre will last almost upto 28-30K for sure... my friends tyre was a real comedy... the threads almost came out... horrible condition...

ride it for atleast a couple of kms or if you are not feeling good then change to new...

Well I think I'll go for the change on 25K. I think I should change the tyre before monsoon hits Pune. Also, I'll have to replace Air Filter, Clutch Plates, Spark Plug, etc at 25K. Guess, it'll be a long expense list

Also for all, I was informed by my SVC guy that a sealant for FZ tyre comes for 650/- which seals itself to the inner side of the tyre and the tyre won't give a problem no matter how many punctures/nails gets in. Will go for it for my new tyre
