PS: really amazed a tiny windscreen like the one on Fazer can help that much to redirect the air and prevent air drag
The fazer's fairing does help in achieving more speed easily than a normal
FZ and also maintaining that speed for more duration effortlessly...
And yes the windblasts on FZ are very hard....i once literally flew off my bike........

It was prolly the only good thing about the service. Despite all the problems the bike has inherited, I still felt like ripping a lil JUST because of the oil change.

BTW, I found a place where they fill N2 in the tyres. 30 bux for bikes, 100 for cars / 4 wheelers. If anyone is interested, its the big HP oil pump (the one which has a Crossword) which lies while going from Wakad bridge to Hinjewadi.

PS: Thanks Novice for the help in helping with the decision about oil and everything else, and the location of the guys who store it.
    No prob buddy.....anytime.....

I would really suggest that whatever tyre you are going to go for, make sure the specs are the same as the stock. Replacing a tyre with one that has different specs usually is a bad move.

I'll be able to enjoy it more when I get the bike serviced again this coming weekend... This service literally has me on the brink of tears.

Well...we dont really have many options to choose from......coz of the unusual tyre profile....
but you can check out IRC's 130 section tyres or try going to a michelin store(although i doubt they have those profile tyres in india)....

If possible in your city, get your hands on the Pirelli sport demon...that tyre's amazing....but i think it would be a little expensive....even i am searching for one but ......

Is the Pirelli Sport Demon is of same profile as that of the stock?? And I don't want any soft compound tyre!

Also I would like to know about the colour code of the wires! The blue one is for the position lamp.. Rest I don't know.

I got it serviced from Castrol Bike Zone (Hinjewadi Phase 1) coz my roommates get thr bikes serviced from there and they say he does a decent job. Plus, its on my way to office, and way more convenient than Gurunanak Auto Lounge.
Hey buddy, you have to be very careful in choosing the right SVC if not Yamaha ones coz the guys won't be so much comfortable on an FZ than they are on Pulsars. And I've never heard a good thing about the Phase 1 CBZ. I get it done from the Wakdewadi SVC or the Shivajinagar CBZ.

BTW, I would like to know from where did you get the Petronas oil and for how much? Is it 15W40 or 20W40?

Well u can switch to semi synthetic or full synthetic

Most of the Yamaha guys stock 15w50 grade Yamalube SS oil's which again doesn't make mush differance and can be used in ur fizzy. Im using the same oil now and haven't noticed any problems.

Your other options are Motul Semi/full synthetic grade 20w40.
You cannot go wrong with Motul, trust me

The semi synthetic can run fine for 3.5k kms and the full synthetic can do well over 5k kms.
you decide which one you want to go for....

I think its better if you get it done from the SVC itself.....even i have a CBZ near my home and its utter (s)crap......
So i prefer the SVC even if m not fond of them.....

                    • Pirelli Sport Demon is of a higher profile.AFAIK The stock MRF is the only tire manufactured as per the recommended size...140/60 is a non standard size.140/70 is the standard size.
But the front one is fine...Pirelli Sport Demon is of the same size

Yup.. I guess I learnt it the hard way. Won't make that mistake again. Got the handle-bar shock treatment fixed... for now atleast... I plan to take it to a Yamaha SVC ASAP.

Got the Petronas from a local type shop near my flat. He specializes in fixing tyres as such and the guy boasts of having a good puncture guy. Other than that, he stores various kinds of engine oils ranging from Castrol stuff to Motul to Petronas. He changes the oil in the bike for no extra labour charge.

Name of the place is Om Tyres. It's in Vishal Nagar (near Jagtap Dairy.. near Khybar restaurant). If u want his number, I can ask him for it.

If you are coming in from Aundh / city side, you cross Rakshak Chowk, take the left on the Y cut, you see a CCD on the right, and about 100 mts from there, the shop is on the left side of the road.

                        Price - Rs. 440
Grade - 10W40 (which is fine for Pune weather, as we are in the middle of summer)

                              • Went to the show room yesterday to get by ride serviced. I also had to change my rear chain kit as the chain had maxed out its stretch But sadly the pearl Yamaha guys dint have it in stock, like always So my mechanic put a R15 sprocket and voila, my bike runs like crazy. The initial pick up has increased, and i must say the top end has not been effected from what i have noticed . im still using the Fz's chain but with an R15 sprocket. the bike just keeps pulling hard from the word go

I'm lovin it!! I also got him to tune my carb...

Well it too early for me to tell about the mileage and stuff so hang on ill let u guys know in a few days
