  • @Calibre,

Thanks for the advice. Will try it. Ya, i too think that clutch is left by the mechanics on a different setting i think, because, the bike is almost transferring torque even after relaxing the clutch very little. So, in running, i think i have to press the clutch all the way to the handle and then shift. Will report it in next service. But still wonder how that effects the gear shifts.

BTW, the new versions of FZ-16 and FZ-S are loaded on their website..

The fonts look boring but the side-plates on headlights are more impressive. Any idea how much those side-plates cost for headlights if i want to upgrade them?

The clutch lever play can be adjusted very easily and usually does not need tools. AFAIK, the procedure is in the manual. The job takes 1 minute.

There aren't any tips... as you are going for the first service use the yamalube mineral oil itself... after 3000kms you can go for any semisynthetic oil and after 9000kms you can go for fullsynthetic oil also(if you need)...

Note: Don't go for an oil which is not the specified grade, FZ's oil grade is 20W40, you can go for any xW40, don't use xW50 or xW30 etc.
If you need further info. on oils check here...

while returning from office , generally it gets late so i feel the current headlight bulb is not that much useful for me. can i change it by higher watt bulb.
            doubts are:
            1. will it void warrenty?
            2. any effect on battery?

if no then plz suggest me sm gud options and their prices in delhi

Osram night breakers are a very good choice, as i haven't used it yet, many FZ's owners are using it without a hickup... the battery life is ok with this... don't know about warranty part...

the price of it is around 850-900rs...

I guess i got a lucky piece of bike. I check the air pressure every 2 weeks and keep them at 2 units extra, drive48-55 speed range and in mostly highway conditions
                Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

                • Ok... I finally got off my lazy a$s , bought a can of Petronas full synth and gave my bike for servicing.

Will get it back tomorrow. Will update about the effects of the new oil after riding around a lil.

Btw, does anyone else think the red cheeks on the FZ-16 look totally fruity?

yeah the warranty will be void if you use anything apart from an HS1 bulb of 35/35W and an OSRAM nightbreaker or philips motovision are H4 and rated at 55W.....
battery life will definitely be shortened.......

Keep the OE Philips Bulb. If you ever do have electrical problems, replace the 55/60 W bulb with the OE bulb before you approach the service centre.

Battery life will be shortened but the battery isn't expensive and it will still last a few years.

                        • Small prob guys...
I had stored my bike for 2 months with the old engine oil and a full tank...
then when i rode the bike...it felt diff. i mean above 4.5k RPM,there is a diff feel and noise..the sound is slightly like i have a filter!and vibrates more, feels rougher too...i thought this would go away after a service but no!i even changed frm the Mineral Oil to Semi Synth!
SVC guys couldn't find any prob!

                          any ideas?

                          Thank You

not really..it jst depends on the SVC.
My SVC itself fit the OSRAM NB i gave them and i have never had any issues of Warranty with them.

I guess its just the carbon build-up due to non usage. A few good ripping sessions should help!
