osram NBs is NOT an hid bulb but a normal halogen bulb with higher watteage and a slight white tinge in color.....

our stock bulb is a philips HS1 category the dimensions of which are equal to that of H4....

and for installing HID bulbs you will need to install the full kit which includes the ballast and an HID bulb...

you can directly put the NB it wont have an adverse effect on the battery,,,,
    Thanks for the info Kinshuk.

I second that. Even I wanted to swap my stock battery for a higher Amp hour one, but another Universal thread in the x-bhp tells me I got to rewind my coils for the higher rating. Dont want to mess with the electricals in the bike. So I'm left with putting in a HID with a projector and everything or put in a Halogen lamp with a higher wattage. Ahh Life's complicated...

How bout the rod type guard guys???
Anyone has fixed it to their bike??
I got a friend of mine who has the rod type guard. Replaced it three times already. They kind of get the job done but his was fixed very low. So you will need the handle bar to take some impact too to save the tank. I've got a butterfly type design. Not the best design but does the job very well. Make sure when attaching it, its done properly. I got it done at JC road some small shop and they fitted it very loosely. Perfect Riders fitted it perfectly though it costs 100Rs more and charges are Rs50. They will remove the air scoops below the tank and then attach it, so that it is very firm.

        Hey thanks a lot.
I think I will go with the butterfly design itself.
Will get it fixed in SVC itself.

        • Rains started and it was also time for my 5th service. The SVC guy suggested my plastic covers for switches and meter for 150 Rs and I agreed.
A week later I started getting issues with my indicators. While my way home I saw that the left side indicator was not working, I stopped the bike and took out the plastic cover on the indicator switch just to find out that it was full of water all this while my indicator switch was totally water laden.

I suggest never to put on these plastic covers and even if you do make some holes at the underside of them.

I went to the Andheri(E) Excellent Yamaha SVC to get my indicator switch fixed and was surprised that the guy sprayed Motul chain clean in it. After some minutes of drying the switch seemed to work. I went back to office but later on my way home again the indicator would not work most of the times.

Today I sprayed Zorrik and the indicator is now as good as new.

          Cheers.

              This is so ironical..!!

Thanks for putting this up .. I was considering putting those covers.. now I know they actually cause more problems than they sought out to solve..!!

                • One more thing guys, I am new to this forum so may be my question might sound silly.

Has anyone of you got free acce3ssories while getting your bike delivered(especially from Bangalore wheels, bangalore)?

I will be getting my bike this week, so any inputs would definitely help.

I bought mine from the factory shop, so the only "free" accessories that I did get were a keychain, garage cover and a cheap looking cap with John Ab's signature on it
