I had a blackout for a sec & stopped my bike. Damn! I always love the fz/fazer when i saw it on-roads .

    Guys,

Do you think that the rider had modded the headlights into high-beam type?
or the yamaha ppl done it?

What's the mileage of fz/fazer in city riding like normal/not too rash riding?
    Guys any response for this?

one can do the mod by themselves its a simple one all you have to do is take a wire from the high beam socket and connect it to that of the low beam socket....

am sure the yammi people wont do that as it will void the warranty....

my fz turns out an average of around 40kmpl with rpms in the range of 5000+ on straights and city riding....
i thought many times to check the bike's mileage with an average more perspective but was not able to resist the temptation of wringing my right hand...

      • Another FZ rear rim disaster

Saw another photo of actually a broken rear FZ rim due to rough roads... Well it my rear rim once bent... FZ OWNERS BE CAREFUL WHILE OFF ROADING OR RIDING THROUGH UN EVEN ROADS... It seems as a negative issue on the bike..

My friend changed his FZ rear tyre at Pearl Yamaha kondapur n he fit the new high profile 140/70 but was suprised that the tyre had no manufacturers name????. that was unusual. price was 3000/= they said that it was a solution to the rim bends n it saves the rim by absorbing shocks. any experience or comment??

i had a similar experience but it happened to my front rim... had a minor accident where i dropped the bike sideways in a small hit and run accident... and after i came home discovered that the front rim has bent slightly no idea how this happened as nothing hit the rim!!! and the worst part is my disk brake has bent too!!! i still ride with it... gotta change them soon i was not able to claim insurance and stuck on finances... breaks my heart to see my disc wobble!!!

The Rims of the FZ arent exactly the best. Just looking at it also doesnt inspire a lot of confidence either. But breaking rims are actually extreme. I think this is the first case I've heard of. Can you share the link or pic of the broken rim.

3k for an unmarked tyre is really a lot. Especially when the MRF Revz cost only 2.25k. A pic of that tyre also would be welcome.

I will make arrangements to get a photo of the tyre n also want to ride the bike n see the difference.

Thanks ABZ , you have done my task .
Was about to post the same query over here. Last Saturday we went for a short trip to Kuntala Waterfalls (260 km from Hyderabad) . We hit a rough patch of road in between . We were on Pulsar UGI , R15 and FZ-16 . Though nothing seemed to happen to R15 and Pulsar UGI , FZ 16 was in bad shape after a major pothole . I have attached the pics. The speed was around 70-80 and the pothole was big . But still back mag wheel flying into pieces is an unusual thing and reflection of bad quality of Mag Wheel (considering nothing happened to rest two bikes) . Even the front mag wheel is bent and it needs replacement.
I have attached the pics .
Any FZ owner who faced this issue. Any plausible solution that prevents such things in future.

Yeah nothing happened to R15 nor to Pulsar spoke wheel. As mentioned earlier speed was around 70-80 when we hit the pothole .

Hey Juris, was there any pillion with you? If yes then what was his approx. weight? Because these things do matter keeping in mind the depth of pot holes you went through

                                Holy crap. WTF.
I am freaking speechless as I write this. This is like the heights of failure. Bends I can understand, but this is outright unbelievable. I wouldnt have believed it had I not seen it.

Man compared to this Nand's probs seem trivial (not that they are ).

That too on the way to a trip. Damn thats tough.

I sincerely hope this is a one-off case and that the rims are'nt that brittle for everyone.

I hope no one was injured when this happened.
