Just go to the yamaha SVC or any workshop that specializes in tube less tyres. The nail will be removed and the solution will be applied and the tyre will be as of old. This would cost you around 100-150rs. No need of replacing the tyre for these. Buying the puncture kit would be very costly. Next time, drive more safelyOriginally posted by venomafiax View Postguys i think disaster struck me... the thing i feared the most has just happened... the last month ive been loosing air in by rear tyre every 3-4 days... when i check... its gone from 33psi to 16 or 20... ive been filling it up every 3 days... but today morning i spotted a steel thing inside my tyre and it looks like a nail without the head. Can i get the puncture done or do i have to replace the tyre? if i can get the puncture done... are there any specific tools i should ask them to use or could you please suggest the process that normally takes place!

Saree Guard
As a lazy Sunday project, I'm thinking of removing the saree guard myself. Any tips on how can I do that? I'm all thumbs! :P. Also, do I need some screws to fill in the holes under the seat after removing the saree guard?Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

suggestions needed from seniors
Hi All.. I'm new to xbhp... I've been on this site from more than a week to find the perfect solutions for things related to my Fz 16 (1 n half years old - 10k kms done).
Here are a few things ive been looking for:
1. I wish to shift to a fully synthetic engine oil. Ive read that there are some probs with Motul 300V 5W40 / 10W40 on FZ. Has anyone experienced it? I'm also considering Petronas Full Synth as its easier on the pocket also. Pls suggest. Thinking of shifting from YamaLube Mineral as i feel the engine heats alot.(No mudguards or engine guard installed, everything is stock)
2. I also want to get the Motul Chain Lube for regular lubrication. Any info on where to get them in Mumbai (around suburbs - Andheri)
3. How is NGK Iridium Spark Plug for FZ. What are the effects of changing to this one from stock (mileage increase/decrease, power increase/decrease). Anyone using it?
Please suggest. Thanks

Remove the 2 bolts in the top part of the saree guard connecting to the body and one connecting to the footpeg frame and it will come off. You can put back the two bolts back to cover the hole.Originally posted by rkakkar View PostAs a lazy Sunday project, I'm thinking of removing the saree guard myself. Any tips on how can I do that? well i got my bike serviced recently at the authorised yamaha agent here in my country... they always use CASTROL 20w40 engine oil.. its really good and ive been having no problems with it.... also for the chain lubrication i got a 3m white grease spray... prevents rust, waterproof and is really good!!!Originally posted by tusilal View PostHi All.. Hi,
I got my FZ-S this past Monday, but today was the second day I rode her. Couple of points:
1. I noticed that the engine heats up after say about an hour of operation. I have been sticking to the 4-4.5K rpm <=50kmph rule but when I stop my bike after an hour or so I can feel the heat from the engine. Is this okay or am I doing something wrong?
2. When should I start lubricating/cleaning the chain?
I have covered about 40kms until now.Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

I personally havent used either Motul or Petronas. But I have heard good feedback on both of them both in this thread and in the engine oils thread. You just need be a 153%Originally posted by tusilal View PostHi All.. I'm new to xbhp... sure that it is genuine. And now that you have done 10k you can easily shift. I had shifted to Agip FS at 3k only. Price was 660 and the result is pretty good. Improvement in High end and good reduction in engine heat.
Again I havent used it, IIRC kinshuk arya did. He noticed a small increase in mileage and/or power. I'm facing some misfires on a cold start so I might get a new plug too. Will provide feedback if and when I get it.Originally posted by tusilal View Post2. I also want to get the Motul Chain Lube for regular lubrication. Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....

That is fine during running in, the parts wouldn't have set in and the higher friction would result in heat. Just let the engine cool for 10 min for every 100km (that is assuming you are doing 100+km in one go) and you should be fine.Originally posted by rkakkar View PostHi,

This actually depends on where u are. Being monsoon time and you generally tend to attract mud/slush on your chain. I normally do during services only. But if you are driving in really dirty roads you better do it more frequently. Just inspect the chain every week, thats all.Originally posted by rkakkar View Post2. thanks for help.. can u tell me which Agip FS have you shifted to? I'm open to try any brand as far as i get original lube and good results.. And i'm a bit biased towards full synthetic though..Originally posted by dude_phenom View PostI personally havent used either Motul or Petronas.
