Need some suggestion on what to do:
1)Bike is loosing pikup and hiks up if I accelerate a bit hard.
2)Its not starting on first crank(rather its taking atleast 2 or 3) as it used to be.
3)Chain is making "kat-kat" noise though tightened twice and lubed.
4)All over ride quality has become rough and little vibration all over the body at speeds arround 80 or at arround 7k to 8k rpm, this vibrations were not there previously.
I don't know what is wrong with the bike its serviced timely and proper care is taken. The ride is 1 yr 5 mnths and 11600km old.Currently using motul 5100 15w50 ss for last 1500 km oil level and quality is fine.HISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......

1) Did you change your air filter as recommended in the manual... judging by the amount of kms you have done your stock air filter life has come to an end.Originally posted by BAMBI143 View PostNeed some suggestion on what to do:

2) Check the spark plug. Secondly, get the carb cleaned. If it is not cranking by itself..use a little throttle and see.
3) Your chain's life might have come to a premature end like mine.. which lasted about 14k kms. Did you religiously use to lube it every 500/1000 kms atleast? Tightned it and see if it has come to the last setting of the chain setting.. which clearly means that its life is almost over.
4)Check tappets/valve clearence, engine bolts to be tightened and also check the level of engine oil. Do check the condition of the spark plug whether it is showing lean or rich.
Hope this helps,

Friend seriously think on this ??? before buying a R15.
FZ has comfort far better than R15. I am a Happy R15 owner but i know the importnace of comfort. R15 is best in all means but once a person ridden FZ he mostly can't adjust to R15, nevertheless it's a week bike.
Please re-think.
Even if you go for R15 then welcome to R15 Family.

Spark plug is never checked,I was planning to change the airfilter at next service ....chain was always lubed at 500 or before 1000 km..carb never cleaned ..yes using throttle helps but not a little i have to twist it more than what can be termed as little..for the 4th point ill try to get them done ..Originally posted by shv18 View Post1) Did you change your air filter as recommended in the manual... judging by the amount of kms you have done your stock air filter life has come to an end.

Serviced my bike yesterday.
I had mentioned a month earlier that my mileage was down because of the tight rear wheel. The issue has been fixed. The SVC guy said that both the wheels of my bike were jammed and now they've been fixed. The bike now feels a lot smoother but the rear brake is not as effective as it used to be earlier. The SVC guy said if he tightenes the rear brake then I'd be back to square one. I took a test ride and found out that it now takes a little more time to stop after braking. Also, riding in the first gear feels a bit harsh than before.
Any heads-up?Last edited by dnyanesh; 05-18-2012, 04:24 PM.Yamaha Fazer [2011]

I have no problems riding my 2011 FZ-S, However my knees sit outside of the "scalloped" sides of the fuel tank. If I sit further back I can tuck my knees in the scalloped sides. I've had to rotate the handlebar, also adjust the gear shift lever a couple splines to get the angle correct for my toe. Apart from that take one for a test ride and see how you go.2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

First weekend ride after getting the engine opened and changing the stem seals of the valves..
Ride report
200Kms with 5 breaks and speeds of 80-95 Kmph. Short burst of 110 kmph.
Bike was very rough, seemed more like a carb issue. Loss of pickup when the throttle is released for a few seconds and reengaged?????
Major issue, still burning engine oil... Lost almost 150 ml, also smoking...
Looks like I need to change the valves and also recheck the cylinder head..Yamaha Fazer 2011 13600km in 8 months and counting
