Btw,am not at all happy with the stock lights on my Fazer.Gonna do a projector/HID conversion in a few months hopefully.
Well don't have the camera on me right now will try. I believe RanjithMN has taken a pic on the same.
HID the only issue is that one has an option of either the Chinese brand or very expensive ones. Plus legally the HIDs have to be 4300 Kelvin only and without projectors it is illegal to use.

Cheaper option is to use 60W/55 light bulb. But ensure that you don't keep it on and don't use the horn without keeping the engine running otherwise the stock battery will go kaput! If you are willing to spend a bit more then go for a 5 Amps or 9 Amps Battery. It takes a little bit longer to charge up but will provide ample amount of power to run all the electricals and future electrical mods you may want to do.

Now the trouble, when the bike is put on center-stand, both the tyres reach the ground, the rear wheel rests quite firmly on the ground. So, is it normal? Or do i have to change/ repair the stand? how much should it cost, in the case it has to be changed?
Finally, thanks ya'll for this great thread.
If i remember correctly the Showroom charged me 700 - 900 bucks for the accessories when procuring my ride which i believe includes the cost of the center stand and the crash guard. I suggest visit the SVC once and ask for the rate.

    Cheers,

Thanks a lot, shv18. It'd still be helpful to know if it is normal for both the tyres to stay on ground while on centre stand.

      • Countersteering in FZ-S

        Hi guys,

Today I tried COUNTERSTEERING in my FZ-S.

It's really nice, intuitive and very easy to take even tough corners as well as overtaking in city roads. You don't need to turn the handlebar.

I'm really excited to use it. It's very easy when compared with turning the handlebar. I request guys who tried countersteering to share their experience.

PS: Beginners, please try countersteering with proper practice, proper bike and road conditions...

IMAO nobody uses steering to turn unless bike is stopped or is running very slow, counter steering is pretty sub conscious unless you are attempting to take on a hard corner.(I may be wrong off-course)

with the standard swingarm the rear wheel (with the suspension preload on the heaviest setting) the rear wheel is off the ground.

When I had my alloy swingarm the rear wheel was still on the ground. It was unable to rotate, this was also with the shock preload on the shortest setting (I went from long upto short and still couldn't rotate the wheel)

            (2011 FZ-S model btw)

Check the tyre size, whether it's stock or high-profile one

              • rear disc kit

While I was in Philippines (Manila) recently I decided to buy a(nother) rear disc conversion kit.
                This was from J2Cab modifiers.
                J2Cab Modifier | Facebook
His kit has a honda rear disc caliper sub assembly. This is the cast aluminium rear caliper bracket that has KTM cast in the side, also has KTM in the honda part number. This I believe is also possibly the same bracket that Lucky Luke has on his Fazer.

I've included a pic of this kit.
It includes the machined hub, rear disc for a sonic (I believe) Factory high temp painted Red Nissin caliper + bracket + (Nissin) Pads, Correct length brake line, master cyl and assorted bolts (carbon for the disc/hub/rim hexhead bolts)
                All that needs to be done is;
                1) possibly removal of the drum brake liner,
                2) A new spacer machined up for the rear rim/swingarm bolt,
                3) Cut, adjust and weld of the rear brake pedal mounting point (where the rod to the drum brake used to be fastened via the bolt) so it aligns with the master cyl plunger rod.
                4) Drill into the swingarm (both sides) and weld a bolt that aligns with the bracket to allow the whole piece to slide back and forth with the rim as 1 piece to allow tensioning of the chain.
The master cyl attaches to the foot/heel guard in a more vertical position.

Having this bracket does away with the need for that annoying little rod that bolts to the underside of the swingarm to stop the drum brake from rotating.

Cost is................................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................(building up the suspense)....................................5,500 (Philippine) Pesos / 7,041.91 Rupee / AUD$128 + labour and spacer (possibly)

                    Cheers,
take a look in the universal threads.
Lucky Luke has already done one with some awesome hand drawn diagrams.

I'll take pics as the parts gets installed.

the tyres are the stock ones, checked it. the last owner belonged in the heavyweight category ( i'm no featherweight btw), I think he might have had a habit of sitting on it with the stand engaged.

Thanks Mad Mik, for clarifying. much appreciated.

So if anyone has some good contacts and reliable guys in Mumbai who do projector-HID setup then I will be more than happy.
The local guys who install the projectors here in Kolkata are more prone to damaging the whole reflector and things. Its better u spend a bit more money and get the work done properly from customization & detailing experts like GRz Customs..etc.
I'm also thinking along those lines.Let's see.

According to lots of owners here,Daytona exhaust is not worth the money at all. U can buy the RaceConcept's Free Flow Exhaust.Check the whole thread and Google some videos about the FFE...all the best.

You can check my previous posts on this thread for ownership review. Little bit hard work but I presume should give you all the info you need. Or search for user Rylan/ RanjithMN. They have also written about the FFE.
