Fz-rc
Hi All,
Joel just did a small spin on Rylan's FZ-RC. This is an amateur video for the same:Race Conceps Fz 16 - 180cc - full works - street monster on a casual spin - uphill on flyover - YouTube
please do note:
* It was just a lazy spin.
* Clutch was slipping as it needs to replaced(Mentioned by Rylan in his thread earlier).
* Heavy cross winds and riding on uphill.
* Since, the gearing is stock, the FZ-RC will hit 100 in no time however the top end is limited. I guess a 15T front sprocket mod should do the trick for higher top end.
*Joel & Rylan will be posting a proper video with go Pro and along with V-Box data logger results.

Just hope it doesn't get removed for causing people to ride recklessly on the streets (like my clips were removed)2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

@ shv, its when I every time smoke any 180 or once even a pulsar 200, is when it hits me how fast my bike actually is. Words just cannot describe the feeling. Joel and myself will get the vids done ASAP, and let them do the talking.Originally posted by shv18 View PostHi All,

I guess the stock CDI and under gearing are currently limiting the capabilities of your souped ride. As in when Joel decides to release the programmable CDI for sale, i think that should do the trick. As per my last conversation with him, the CDI has 8 programmable settings right from full on aggressive to moderate riding settings.Originally posted by rylan View Post@ shv, its when I every time smoke any 180 or once even a pulsar 200, is when it hits me how fast my bike actually is. Your ride in the video constantly displays the red light engine error glowing constantly.. is it because of the faulty clutch plates or something else??

it is bit difficult to give you suggestions without knowing the details about your ride, service history and riding style.
Have you been experiencing clutch slippage while riding i.e.: when you ride her hard and leave the clutch the engine takes bit time to respond before achieving acceleration again?? if so then you have burnt out clutch plates my friend. Replacement costs around 700-900 bucks from official Yamaha SVC and i would recommend purchasing from the same. Ideally, a well maintained FZ, the clutch plates are good to last in excess of 25-30,000+ kms.
If you ride's chain adjustment in the rear wheel has reached its last setting then it is time to replace your chain and both the sprockets. Costs around 1300 bucks for the chain and the sprocket set. Always go for genuine Yamaha parts. Mine, the stock factory chain lasted for 13,000 kms thanks to inactivity for almost 5 months and ofcourse the harsh weather near the coastline. The replacement Chain has been so far good since the last 8000 kms with little or no adjustment done for chain slackness.
If you have not followed the guidelines of the service manual then please immediately replace the air filter and the spark plug at the earliest. Life of the stock air filter is not more than 12,000 kms for i have have replaced it every 10,000 kms. Once, you are close to 20,000 kms then do a preventive maintenance of your ride (more details can be obtained by going back some pages, have written extensively on it.!!)
Engine oil wise: if you want an alternative option to Yamalube:
1) You can go for Motul mineral 20W 40 (Lasts about 2500 - 3000 kms based on usage, cost around 270 - 300 bucks i think!).
2) If you want better performance then Motul 300v factory line 4T Semi Synthetic oil Single ester 15W 50(lasts around 3000-3500 kms, costs 500 - 600, don't remember!!).
3) If you want good performance and long service intervals then Motul 300V Factory line 4T 15W 50 Double Ester (Lasts 5000+kms, costs around 980 - 1000 bucks).
hope this helps,

Na, it ain't the clutch plates. If you take a closer look at the stock carb. It has a connector and when connected completes the circuit with the engine check that occurs once u turn the engine switch. In the carb that I've installed, there isn't any provision for that making the light glow constantly.Originally posted by shv18 View PostI guess the stock CDI and under gearing are currently limiting the capabilities of your souped ride. I have a quetion. At arround 15 days earlier I thought of switching to DOT4 brake fluid for my FZ (don't know what is the default grade provided) so I went out and bought a tvs girling DOT4 bottle. Now the mechanic who is pretty experienced and till now whatever problem I faced with my bike he solved flawlessly he took out the brake fluid from the cylinder with an injection syringe and wiped the cylinder clean and poured in the DOT4 I told him that he is supposed to bleed and then fill he answered there is no problem. So I took the bike and till now it has done 300 km(after DOT4 replacement) and no issues faced rather braking improved to an extent.I'm worried if the unreplaced fluid in brake lines will cause any problem or not. Please suggest what to do?..should I tell him to bleed or remain as its is..HISTORY IS NOT ABOUT WHO IS RIGHT BUT ABOUT WHO WRITES IT.......
