I think the ride on TPS product is pretty good atleast the video demo shown by these guys and the amount of torture they have put the tire through pretty much speaks for itself. The product protects mainly the contact patch of the tire to the road i.e. the center so it won't safe guard your tire against things entering from the side which is usually very rare.it seems to be better than other selants as it doesn't form lumps or is susceptible to high temperatures as mentioned by xbhp member:Satyenpoojary.

I have decided to go ahead with the tire sealant judging the tire scene of me bike. Tom first thing in the morning will go and get the repair done and then will contact the ride on dealer, Mumbai regarding the sealant. Shall keep you guys posted.
    Thanks shv18.
the video and the post that mumbai Xbhp'ians are using is quite convincing.
Just wanted to know which one is better, as ASC have SLIME and they say that it is recommend by Yamaha.

    @all,
I happen to change the spark plug as 12K, as recommended in the manual, but the new one has given me starting problems since it was installed. Thought its taking time to settle down, which it never did, so I went back to service guys and asked to put back the old and see how it goes and it worked like a charm. This tells the new one has some problem.

I asked ASC whats the warranty and would I be given a replacement for it, to which I am told, No warranty/guarantee for spark plug. He told that sometimes they work like charm and sometimes they just don't.
The thing is I also happen to ride with this faulty spark plug for about 3K now.

Is it really true that there is no warranty/guarantee for a spark plug ?
If it does, will my riding with faulty one for 3K have any issues to get the replacement ?

Utter nonsense, they would say anything to mint a few more bucks...

If your old stock spark plug is still in good condition simply continue using it. I too was thinking of replacing the stock plug at 12k but decided against it as it was still in very good condition..

      Cheers

I hear Amaron is more popular. Hoping for more replies before I can freeze on this.
give the battery for recharging they will tell you if it is getting recharged or not... and about the health of the battery. if it is getting recharge properly than the problem might be with the bikes electricals.

amaron is quite good as well and they are the ones which have dry cell(maintenance free) batteries for bikes also...

Will the SVC do this or do I have to go to a battery service center?

                the svc will do it....

they will keep the battery for recharging for some hours approx 4-5 but in cases of a compltely discharged battery it might take upto 12 hours to rechrage...

i doubt there is anything possible with getting hold of a new replacement spark plug against the faulty one. I believe the new one costed you somewhere around 150 bucks... just let it be no point of losing your cool over that... just continue using your old stock spark plug which is good enough to last 19 - 22,000 kms.

Motul Chain Lubrication 400 ml can is for 480 bucks.. or OSK Chain Spray for around 185 bucks if i remember correctly.. chain cleaner i say cheaper option zorrik 88 can (pidilite) around 50-70 bucks or WD 40 Can under 100 bucks.

Lube the chain every 500 kms or less if its raining like crazy which tends to wear out the lubrication faster.

                      Cheers

I think zorrik88 and wd40 are used for cleaning and not for lubing... they might have some lubing properties with them as well but i dont think anywhere they are used for lubing the chain.

hi sorry guys couldn't finish the writing and the net went off... anyways have corrected my previous post. Anyways WD 40 indeed people use it for chain lubing however there are debates all across the net regarding effectiveness of the same.

Zorrik 88 i have recently tried on me chain and it cleans and indeed does act as a lubricant. However, for proper lubing cheaper option is OKS.

                              Cheers

Sorry gentlemen, but I shall be very abrupt there: using WD40 for chain lubrication is utter ignorance and nonsense!
Of course, it has "some" lubrication properties! Even gasoline has! Diesel has much....but would anyone lubricate anything with diesel???

Unless you don't give a crap about it anymore and you only bought it for the look and forget about it like a toy you got bored with like that of a spoiled child, your FZ16 should benefit of a minimal care and that includes the chain. Even if you don't care for your bike, a broken chain can leave you desperate in the middle of no-where, can even have caused injuries. Not to mention the cost of a (good) chain compared to a few rupees of proper CHAIN lubricant. Forget about the rest, or forget calling yourself a biker!

                                Sorry for the rant.
When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!
