I switched to 300V 15w50 from mineral..no issues so far. Did a long tour with constant riding at 90+kmph for abt 150+kms, no issues.

How is it? Is it worth the extra money? Could you tell us what differences you experienced?Originally posted by abhijitkn View PostI switched to 300V 15w50 from mineral..no issues so far. Did a long tour with constant riding at 90+kmph for abt 150+kms, no issues.
Thanks for your feedback.

Gear shifting is improved, vibrations have reduced. It can last up to 6000kms but depends on how you ride. But there are reports that it comes in duplicate so make sure you buy authentic. Check the dealer above provided by Shv.

@ shv18:
Nice to see you back and hopefully in full swing
Hope too that you get you mods completed soon. Don't forget you will have to go through the whole running-in process again
, hence does not seem worth to go for fully synthetic oil now, as you will have to revert to fully mineral!
200cc. mod: Cyl and piston are on their way, but head and cam are still being worked on. Will post/ start a new thread when I get started on that mod.
@ samarthM:
You don't have to worry about using an oil whose smaller viscosity number (= viscosity @ 0 deg.C) is lower than recommended. Only matters the higher number, and one cannot go over 50.
As for how the bike will behave: just what "abihijitkn" said, plus engine heating slightly less. I would however not recommend, although it is possible, to keep this oil for as much as 6,000km. but rather something like 4,000 max., which is already very good. Anyway: if you keep it as long as 6,000, you will have had to add some, which will be new oil wasted at next oil change!Last edited by Lucky Luke; 12-02-2011, 09:14 AM.When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

my monthly average running has increased from earlier 1500 kms to 2500 kms... so fully synthetic does make sense. Plus i intend to ride 1000+kms to Blore to Joel's workshop and back to get all the upgrades done.
Will keep you posted.

As of now I'm still in two minds , I do have the N250R idea in my head ... or maybe even the N650R depending on how many projects i can do in that period , but that is still a minimum of a year and a half away ... i was born lazyOriginally posted by rohan_5013 View PostSo you ARE going in for the mods

Hello guys, i have just installed Roots Vibrosonic HORNS.I just put some molded iron strips on the both sides. The problem is now that iron stripes got rusted.I have also put the local Hardware nut bolts, which also got rusted but now i have arranged the stainless steel nuts.but i dont know how to prevent/remove rust from that stripes.Should i use spray paint,or which type of paint?
How can i fix this?

Remove the iron strip, spray wd40 and use sand paper to remove rust, again repeat this. Then wash in water and dry the iron strip. Spray paint the strip and fix it back with any regular steel/glazed nuts, and paint these joints too. This should last you as long as you keep the bike.Originally posted by dhiman414 View PostHello guys, i have just installed Roots Vibrosonic HORNS.I just put some molded iron strips on the both sides. The problem is now that iron stripes got rusted.I have also put the local Hardware nut bolts, which also got rusted but now i have arranged the stainless steel nuts.but i dont know how to prevent/remove rust from that stripes.Should i use spray paint,or which type of paint?

There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

Fix them inside tank. No need for extra clamp, just need to bend the original clamp a bitOriginally posted by dhiman414 View PostHello guys, i have just installed Roots Vibrosonic HORNS.I just put some molded iron strips on the both sides. The problem is now that iron stripes got rusted.I have also put the local Hardware nut bolts, which also got rusted but now i have arranged the stainless steel nuts.but i dont know how to prevent/remove rust from that stripes.Should i use spray paint,or which type of paint?

RanjithMN has recently finished almost upgrading to all the goodies provided by Joel, Race Concepts: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...d-fz-rc18.htmlOriginally posted by malikkhan095 View Posthello fz mates

Race Concepts have also developed custom grind camshaft for FZ and a programmable CDI with 8 pre programmed settings: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...tml#post740556
with all these mods, an upgraded FZ's engine can hit 11,500 rpm.
