    Cheers..
Only a 15T front sprocket setup , but you really wouldn't call that a mod .

Kinshuk can give you a better idea about the available options for the headlight ...

With regards to polish ... I use a wax . Formula1 carnauba wax is what I use , pretty effective .

            • Hey guys,
to those of you in chennai, check this out.. Default Parallels Plesk Panel Page) this guy has been gaining a lot of fans among my friends. He does quality work on our bikes unlike the svc a**holes who just talk back and treat us like dirt. I had stayed back to watch my bike being serviced the last time and i was shocked by how careless the guy was. Even after listing out all my faults, he just changed the oil and gave it back. He didnt know the owner was watching. They practically dont do anything. Not even tighten a screw. I am mega pissed at yamaha india now.
for the extra 200 bucks for labour, i actually DO get my bike serviced properly. If anyone else is unsatisfied with their svcs, why dont you guys try this fellow for a change.

see any headlight no mattter what if there is any oncoming glare you will be never able to see your light....

the chepaest way to upgrade your headlight is a 55W car bulb....
after that you can go for a 35W HID.
after that you can go for a projector cum HID which will give you a focussed beam for low light... very good for city riding....
i also have a fz headlight installed with p220 projector(mentioned in the signature)... so even if you dont have the budget for the HID you can always put in an H7 bulb of pulsar 220 for the time being.... costs around 150rs(for the bulb)

and if you have the budget go for a dual beam projector with HIDs.... the best alternative for an upgraded headlight....

Well genuine parts are indeed bit on the expensive side... but now atleast you have your FZ back to her usual self again right?

you can now get the simple stuff like oil change and chain slack adjustment stuff etc. done at your local mechanic's shop. For any significant problem approach the SVC for a paid service/check up. Always buy parts from the svc counter don't go for the offerings from your local mechanic's end.

                        Cheers

which ASC in chennai do you go at ?

I go to Raj yamaha on canal bank road and am pretty much OK with Mr. chandrasekhar who is the manager there. Don't like the one at OMR.

                          • Guys , Went to the Bajaj Probiking showroom today to enquire about the KTM duke 200 ... The guy said the expected price is between 1.5 -2L ... I thought that was a bit higher than what I had expected , I thought 1.3-1.4L ...

But then I found myself drooling over the Ninja and had half a mind to book it and pay the downpayment , but common sense prevailed and I came out of there safely without making any catastrophic decisions

Next up was Honda for the CBR250R and that was horrible , stood there for 20 minutes and no one bothered to ask us what we were there for , NO test ride bike , and the one on display was a C-ABS version , it had 2 kms on the ODO and it had a truck load of bent radiator fins

P.S : The hunt for brake oil is ON , the play in the front brake is beginning to annoy me and the braking confidence i had on the bike seems to be dropping ...
And my chain is also kaput , which makes another annoying noise ... So guys do i change both the chain and sprocket simultaneously or do i replace the chain now and wait till the sprocket gives up ?

How many Km has your bike done? When was the last time you got the brake fluid replaced? Ideally it should be replaced every 10k km. I was experiencing Brake lever play for quite a while so decided on getting the Brake fluid changed for the first time(@34k). The response is spot on now.

Also, AFAIK chain and sprocket come as a set (At least it is that way with Bajaj) and it is always advisable that you change both together.

                              P.S.: My bike = P220
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
