First things first; if you missed a scheduled free service which was due for kms covered or time period covered (whichever is first), then you have very much forfeited your bike's warranty. There are no ifs and buts in the whole matter.Originally posted by aditya.jishnu View Postok my fz has done 4000 kms, 1st servicing at 1050kms....

Now coming to your servicing part, get your bike serviced (it will be a paid service) as soon as possible with an authorized service center. You may explain to them about your problem and they may in the interest of customer service, consider the paid service as a part of the bike's warranty and keep the warranty of your bike intact (they have done it with quite a few people I know). However, that will be solely at their discretion and good will. So it will all depend on how good you are at putting across your case.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

Guys , here is the issue , on getting the brake's bled ( againOriginally posted by kinshuk.arya View Posti went throught the thread however i have some questions....
when repeating the loosening--> pulling brake lever --> tightening --> releasing brake lever what to look for?
Quite obviously the oil that flows out through through the bleeder valve
... It's just the method to pump out the oil through the system and is done so to avoid any air getting back in to the system ... Which is why it is VITAL to make sure that you don't release the brake lever when the bleeder nut is loose .
and finally as per my understanding the conclusion is bleeding means removing the air from the braking system. and if we dont want to replace the brake fluid we will have to keep on adding the brake fluid which came out of the bleeder nut to the reservoir.
I Don't think it is advisable to put the same oil back into the reservoir , if I understood correctly
and when we want to replace the brake fluid we have to remove the oil completely, fill the reservoir and then bleed the system to remove the air?
Bleed the system not only to remove air but also the old oil that is present in the brake line
) I noticed that after about two repetitions of the hold brake > loosen bleeder valve > tighten lever till it touches handlebar > tighten bleeder valve > release brake lever ... There is no pressure left to pump out fluid and the lever hits the handlebar and no more fluid is pumped out ... this does indicate air in the system right ???
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

For a paid service, servicing booklet is not required. However, do explain your problem to them before you give your bike for servicing.Originally posted by aditya.jishnu View Postthank for the reply.. will i still need the servicing booklet for a paid servicing?
There is air in the break line. Once piece of advice; do not try to hurry the bleeding process. It requires time and patience to bleed the breaks to get a nice crisps feeling. For more on the right bleeding process refer to the following Bleeding - HEL Brake DoctorOriginally posted by nand15 View PostGuys , here is the issue , on getting the brake's bled ( again

like will there be a n air pocket? or i should keep repeating untill i see air in the tube??
try sucking the air out by after refilling the reservoir.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

It's not always necessary that while bleeding that there will be an air pocket , as sometimes it's done just to get rid of the old brake fluid when replaced ...Originally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postare what i meant is what i need to see to repeat the process???

Now , if you observe the hose pipe that you have attached to the bleeder valve and see air bubbles coming out of it along with the fluid , then you infer that there is air in the system , If there is no air in the brake line then only the brake fluid will flow through without any air bubbles whatsoever ...
you have to repeat the process until you see the new brake fluid you put in coming out of the bleeder valve and make sure it has no air bubbles along with it .People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Yamaha FZ-S handling problem
Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. This is my first post in XBHP.
I bought an FZ-S 3 months ago. I don't know if its just me, but while turning into slow tight corners, the bike seems to respond in an unpredictable manner (sometimes resulting in over-steer). This problem is not so apparent at high speeds.
Can someone comment on this matter?

Can you confirm if there is any fluid left in the reservoir? Even if the air is trapped in the system, by repeated pressing of the break lever the air should get pushed out from the valve. But make sure the reservoir is always have some fluid in it. When you open the bleeder valve & keep pressing the brake lever the pressure is reduced since the fluid is gushing out from the tube, so not to worry. But after bleeding if the breaking is soft/spongy then there is air trapped in the hose. I suggest to bleed the breaks completely to make sure there is no air in it. You will have to keep pressing the lever for some time till the old fluid (with air if there is any) drains out. If the old fluid is of few days old then you can use the same & mix it with the new one but make sure it has the same DOT spec. But better to use new. I used Motul DOT4, works just fine.
Also ask someone else to test the breaks because sometimes it is psychological.
While bleeding keep the reservoir cap in place other wise some air might get sucked in. I suggest to go through videos on the internet before trying it. Cover the area under reservoir with cloth to avoid damage to the paint.
If you are not confident then leave it to the professionals.Last edited by abhijitkn; 12-29-2011, 12:27 AM.

Okay. Tell the SVC guys that you lost your book when you shifted your place or any story that you can cook up. You cant get free service without those coupons, but you must do regular service at interval of 3000km or 2 months which ever comes first, since there is no coupons left, you need not mention him regarding not doing service at second interval, just tell you want regular service done now, and remember to keep those bills of service as proof of having done service at proper interval for claim.Originally posted by aditya.jishnu View Postok my fz has done 4000 kms, 1st servicing at 1050kms....

Oil burn due to over heating
Ok I am frustrated to the level of selling my most prized possession. I did a pune-kolhapur-pune ride two days back. An 8 hour trip with bike cooling breaks in between. Top speed 120 speeds usually around 100-110.
Today I noticed that my gear shifts were sticky and difficult. Check engine oil and its way below the minimum. Not the first time after a log ride. this happened in my last trip to mumbai too. Both were solo rides. By the way it was perfect after my trip tI mahableshwar with a poison two weeks back. odo says 1600 km since last oil change. Running yamah semi synthetic. Any pointers pleaseYamaha Fazer 2011 13600km in 8 months and counting

yep followed all the points mentioned and did it myself , the oil is about a few days old now . I don't mind going for new oil again , the reservoir is full , I did not let it run low or dry . The problem was after two repetitions of the lever , on the third time , the lever goes straight back to the handlebar and no fluid is pushed out , or very very little is pushed out ...Originally posted by abhijitkn View PostHi Nand,

will do it again , as the SVC guys screwed it up the first time .
@greenknight : At the last oil change , was the filter changed ? If yes , then what quantity of oil went in ? Because most times , even at SVC , when the filter is changed they put in only 1L of oil , whereas when the filter is changed we need to put in 1.2L ... that 200ml is very important ... I had the same issue as yours , because the extra 200ml had not gone in . check that and revert .Last edited by nand15; 12-29-2011, 09:48 AM.People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com
