1500km is too less an interval for the SS..... it easily goes upto 4000km....Originally posted by greenknight View PostThat's what I tried today. Cruised at 95 kmph for 230km. No signs of decrease over 300 km on the new oil. Might want to switch to fs. But my as is being changed at 1500km since the last three times. And 700 ml after 1600km points to something wrong.
for normal day to day riding and an ocassional long ride once in am onth on the highways FS doesnt make much of a difference....

I had this issue , the relay has a loose contact and the next stage to this is the whole damn electrical system shutting down
... imagine that and it can happen while running also , fortunately all it needs is a thump on the box just next to the battery and it will fire up again , but pushing it to re-start is inevitable .

Even my Old FZ gives around 44, with double and sometimes rash riding. In traffic my gf says why you drive so fast in traffic also. Use to zoom ahead of pulsars with confidence.Originally posted by Sunjay Kumar View PostThe new fz gives around 45 kmpl and more than 45 on sane riding
But I use to shift on top gear as soon as possible.Current - 2014 Honda CBR650F, 2007 Honda CBR600RR

Nice, Iceman, very nice! Thank you for posting these picsOriginally posted by iceman331 View PostHey ppl i got myself a Custom made Free Flow Exhaust which looks like a Stock and the noise is a deep rumble on cruising at 60 but beyond 6k RPM its loud.

I also appreciate that this exhaust has been routed in such a way that the central stand is preserved, perhaps at the cost of a slight (very slight!) loss due to some slightly more bending in the header pipe, bu looks well done altogether!
Important question, though: how does the bike respond? Everyone has been praising the performance increase when fitting the FFE designed by Joel Joseph, a person who undeniably knows what flow is, and he has repeatedly warned on the possible non-increase or even diminution of performance if a not properly tuned exhaust if fitted. He is very right in this and since I have to get a whole new exhaust done for my bike (now being 200cc.) this is one of my main worries.
Any information, details on yours will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance. When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

That's normal, Venom, and not at all unpredictable. It very much depends on how you "incline" you bike under you. At low speed, you have to incline it more to ease the turn, but if you incline too much, it "over-steers".Originally Posted by venom88
Hey guys. I'm new to the forum. This is my first post in XBHP.
I bought an FZ-S 3 months ago. I don't know if its just me, but while turning into slow tight corners, the bike seems to respond in an unpredictable manner (sometimes resulting in over-steer). This problem is not so apparent at high speeds.
Can someone comment on this matter?
At higher speeds, you have to follow you bike, and not make it "heel" too much, even move your body (just your bottom, actually) inward so that the bike does not get too much angle....but that starts to be race driving, and - no mocking intended there - you do not seem to be at that level yet! When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

if u wanna see the pics of the exhaust without the cover then u can unscrew the plastic bits of ur bikes exhaust see it n den imagine the same thing in ChromeOriginally posted by Sunjay Kumar View Postwould like to see a pic without the cover

with some shoddy welding work for the notches dat hold the screws for the cover.
Performance wise it has bcome a free reeving happy puppy with a roar of a loin. Yes it has got a very good deep rumbling sound at idling (which is exactly wat i wanted) n i so love it wen when i shift done while decelerating and i get to hear that "phut phut" kinda sound
it reaches 90 very easily...rather these days with the FFE i dont even realize m doing 90 on highway until i find myself approaching the back end of cars very easily n den i look at the speedo to see its 90+
There is no increase in top speed. But the amount of torque is outstanding.....it pulls away in any gear at any speed up to 109 (its top speed)

While this Exhaust was being designed i was looking at the aesthetics and my friend (who tunes cars n designs) was looking at the science part of it. I have seen many After market FFE's and all of them look like a sore thumb on this bike. FZ is all bout looks and i didn't want to ruin it. So i took it up on myself to get this thing done.
yes u are right, with less bends and a more direct path the exhaust would have give me a lil more then wat it gives me now. But i dont mind loosing dat minimal amount of performance, its not going to be used in race where an increase of 0.5% would make me finish 1st or something
As i said asthetics mattered to me most
He was explaining to me about the gas flow, back pressure n scavenging but i couldnt understand any. I jus told him i want it to have a nice deep bass n he did jus the thing.
On performance front it revs very freely up to red line. Has very good amount of torque.....and wat was quite imp for me "the Sound"
Till 6k RPM it sounds like a deep bass rumble beyond 6k it becomes loud.
Believe me wen i say this.....the small Performance bump up is like a bi-product the sound and the looks were my primary concern
There is 1 query, the phut phut kinda sound u get wen u decelerate, is it like the excess amount of fuel escaping n burning up wen it touches th hot exhaust????? Does it mean the bike is running rich? plz help me wid this 1 query

Hi,
Somewhere I feel your exhaust is more like a sound improvement rather than performance but I believe that is what you expected. Check the mileage too except if you don't bother about it. I've planned to do few things with Joel's FFE to match up with the aesthetics of Fz & solve the center stand issue but have no time to do it, but I least bothered about it when I compare it to the performance of these FFEs.
If you are experiencing occasional misfire then it's ok (though confirm with your tuning expert) but continuous misfire is not good. I too experience it when downshifting especially on downhill. Read here. Experts can explain more.
