Could be one out of three possibilities ...

    1. Puncture : ( most likely ) - check for any embedded nails or other objects ... or maybe if you already had a puncture sometime back and you had it fixed , it might be leaking from there ... i have two fixed punctures that are leaking air again .

    2. Rim-bend : you better hope this is not your case , as it is one big pain to fix , not to mention highly risky as my rim broke when they tried to fix it ... but can be checked easily ...

    3. Beading leakage : Don't see any punctures and not leaking through any old ones and no visible rim-bend , then air might be leaking due through the beading ... Fairly easy to fix , just ask them to remove the tyre , clean the rim and reseat the tyre properly .
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

      Hi,
Ask the tyre guy to remove the entire wheel and immerse in water. This method will show you the source of the air leak.

        • Ranjith's FZ-RR

          Hi all,

just happen to pass by Ranjith's posting on his souped up FZ-RR courtesy Joel, Race Concepts (:.Welcome To Race Concepts.:). I guess the video should more or less speak for itself.. if one notices he wasn't even trying hard to reach 100 kmph. As per my conversation, he might be running lean on the carb AFR ratio.

          His upgrades include:

          1) 180cc Big Bore Kit
          2) Simota Performance Air Filter
          3) Free Flow Exhaust
          4) Tweaked Stock Carb
          5) Volumetric porting of the cylinder head for efficiency

          The Video:
A quick run on the FZ-RR | Facebook

@RanjithMN: Sorry couldn't help it . You still have to go for the mild lift camshaft, Racing Carburetor and the programmable CDI. That should put your bike's top end to a much higher end.

          Cheers

          • This run was mainly just to see if i will be able to shoot well. Will be doing a better and harder run, also chasing a stock R15-to showcase the diff.
also without effort looks like i shaved off 0.5secs to 60.

if i remember correctly you were more or less doing the run on reserve... try with 3 ltrs of fuel and a harder run. That should give us all a better idea.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I use Yamaha SZ-R bike, my bike feels a little rough, done 1300 kms after the oil change, is it because of winter? Winter here in Pune brings temp down below 10 degrees.

Went to Ganesh Yamaha at Vikhroli. I know that this is the worst Yamaha SVC but didn't had a choice as they were the only ones who had fork oil seals in stock.
Fork Oil Seals (2 nos): 320 Rs
Fork Oil (~900 ml): 200 Rs
                        Labor: 200 Rs

                        Total Cost: 720 Rs.

Went to the SVC at 9:45 AM and they weren't open yet. I was the first one to reach there. Other guys with their motorcycles started coming and finally they opened the SVC at 10:30 AM with only two mechanics working.
Two more mechanics came by 11 AM and they took by bike on the service bay. They took more than 2.5 Hrs to complete the work on the forks. They are not at all professional and take a break or roam in the SVC for no reason after every 5 mins. Those useless buggers were not in a mood to work at all.
The 'Phat Phat' sound coming from my enhaust on deacceleration was shown to the mechanic. He opened the spark plug and checked it. It looked fine. This was the conversation after that.

SVC: From where do you fill up the petrol.
Me: I do it from a company owned bunk near Cargo Terminal.
SVC: That fuel doesn't look pure and this might be the reason for the mis-fire kind of sound.
Me: Last year when I came here for the first time at that time also you said the same thing and my current bunk is the best one from Mumbai. You cant get a better bunk than this.
SVC: No No the fault is in Fuel only and I cant do anything .

This useless bugger told the same thing to me last year and this time again he is giving the same excuse. Last year I tried many bunks and found out this company owned bunk as the best and never changed it. But these guys are not able to find out the reason for the mis-fire kinda sound and blaming the fuel.

Kamla Yamaha which is my regular SVC is leaps and bounds ahead and better than this useless SVC Ganesh Yamaha. You wont find any mechanic doing time-pass at Kamla Yamaha and complete their work honestly.

                        • ^^ U could have just bought the materials from there and fixed at Kamla Yamaha..though how would u know that service would be so pathetic. Anyways, hope the issue has been fixed now.

OMG 2n half hrz!!!! datz preposterous. I don know where u live but as an alternate to kamala yamaha i can suggest u Excellent Yamaha in Andheri East MIDC.

Yes i got similar kinda argument wen i was telling bout my front brake being to spongy n soft, the guy told me all FZ have same kinda brakes. And then i told him itz quite useless while braking from 70+ speed on highway, the guy tells me that the the company recommends the front brake to be used only below the speed of 40 . Since that day i stopped giving for servicing to Excellent.

Now a days i only buy the Spares from there n get the whole thing done from local mechanic under my watchful eye.

He changed the oil seal n all in an hour.

Holyness.....dat FZ could get to 112 effortlessly. I cant imagine how fast it would get to its top speed if u you really twist the throttle.
This is temption in the purest form. I just cant wait to get it on my bike now

looking forward to the trash test.

o btw good work to the fello whom the bike belongs.
