and believe me the bike is not friendly for 1 side seating wen women r wearing saree....there is no place where they can rest both their feet and as it tapers a bit upward the passenger sitting sideways is always leaning on to ur back.
The bike is not at all Parents being transported friendly.

And as you have mentioned u r gonna ride it in City only i should point out that those Rear View mirrors become quite a pain in the traffic. Fazers m talking bout

Disclaimer - i have nothing against the bike but wat i have stated are true facts experienced by me for 2 years i have had it. I completely love it for wat it is.

      TO ALL -

Got the oil Seal on both the front shock absorbers changed. The left 1 was leaking slightly, 32000km n i thought its better to change both of em now that the time has come to change.

A single Oil Seal costs Rs 157
Veedol Shock Absorbed oil Rs 55 for 250ml, a single shock absorbed took 2 cans
man they r huge compared to any other bike in this segment
I know the seats are small, but R15's seat is much higher than the FZ's.Thats the problem with pillion riding.Btw,u own R15 or Fazer? I know the mirrors will be quite a pain, because they are way outside the bike,so it will keep getting hit with every passing object. But looks HOT! and gotta be careful..would stop me from zipping between cars,as zipping between is unsafe in the city roads full of rickshaws and half-blind drivers.
White Fazer or Midnight Green? (I can maintain white though) I think white makes the bike look much bigger,IMO.Getting it on 16th or 17th hopefully.

Thanks Dude for the pricing info on oil seal. One of the fork is leaking oil in my case from last 1 month. Most of the dealerships dont have oil seals in stock. Only of them have it right now. Going there tomorrow.
I will get both the oil seals replaced and get oil top up also. BTW did you got it replaced from the SVC or from a local mechanic?

Right now I am seriously fed up with the 'Phat Phat' soound coming from the exhaust while deaccelerating. This happens only when the engine is warming up. Once the engine is warmed up (say after 5 mins) the sound disappears. Guess I am running rich, but not sure. Need to get the Spark Plug checked. Anyone here is facing similar issue?

I have a FZ16 and and i said about the mirror thing cos my friend has a Fazer and in stand still traffic when there is some sufficient Space available for a bike to pass, i would go thru but my friend on Fazer would get stuck thankZ to its mirrors...same Story for R15 too.

I got it done from a local mechanic i know. He took Rs 200, forgot to add dat. He opened up the entire thing n petrol washed it from inside to remove the residue oil. The Petrol was taken from my tank

Have u put a free Flow on ur bike???
Its a very common thing with a free-flow exhaust to have that pop sound u r complaining bout. The Term used to describe it is called "Afterfire"

A Situation when some unburned fuel is expelled out of the cylinder and it touched the Hot exhaust manifold igniting it. And that produces the Pop sound.
Personally i love that sound and i have played around with the A/F ratio to see how loud or less loud can it be and i can tell u dat wen u set it to very lean the sound is minimum, but its there. U cant make it go away completely.
but wen running in super Lean Mode the bike feels sluggish.

Normally I also get this kind of work done from my local mechanic, but in this case proper allignment of forks can be an issue. So will get it done from the SVC. 200 Rs should be almost same as the SVC labor charges. Shoudn't the local mechanic charge a lot less?

I haven't installed a FFE. Just the stock exhaust. I feel irritated for the first 5 mins of any ride because of that. Whenever I deaccelerate I get that sound but disappears after 5 mins. Till date I haven't touched the AF ratio (no idea if the SVC guys have fiddled with it). Any idea how to get this fixed?

It is just too happy to be on my bike it seems. It took me 1 complete hour to paint that centre skull because it was my first work on hard surface. Believe me it is not so easy a task. The paints are unforgiving. It still needs some work to be done and clear coating as well which I will have a some experienced painter do because I dont know the ABCD of clear coating and dont want to mess the whole work. will be complete next wednesday as I have too much work at office.

This kind of work is addictive. I could do it all day long if I had the time. Will definitely be glad to work on someone else bike. Just come up with what you want and I might do it.

Yeah, its like painting...u never feel like stopping..

@ Nirvaana: I am quite sure u are having a damaged wheel because the more u ride, the more PSI u lose..check air after a 5-10 km ride right after filling air..and also after keeping bike overnight...then u can be sure what problem u are having.Don't wait for a week,as u will burn more petrol if your tyre loses air. I had this problem right after I bought my Pulsar,it was a leak, they changed the inner tube thankfully as was under warranty.

                            • Guys,
to those interested in performance mods,
in case you are interested in using a free flow filter, go ahead, its resulted in a free revving engine.... only thing to remember, as much as possible, use the stock airbox (find a proper hose to connect the oval stock hose with the circular K&N filter).. if unavailable, just use a 6 inch extension rubber pipe straight on the carb.. (100/- max).. made a world of difference... previously my filter was fit straight on the carb.. made a lot of noise but i wasnt really going fast.. now with the extension (joel's idea), the airflow is streamlined.. so, breathing has improved and so has acceleration..

and regarding the leaning of the fuel mix... dont worry... the filter doesnt lean it up that badly.. i was very reluctant to tinker with the engine because of the AF mix.. but after riding 500+ kms with no signs of lean running (backfiring, white plug ends, erratic acceleration, engine overheating and performance loss at high rpms) i tell you, its not an issue at all.. somethings are just learnt with experience..

next up, custom exhaust- went to pudupet (auto hub of chennai) and researched around and met a few like minded ppl.. one of them had a fazer with a custom exhaust end can from endurance(an indonesian manufacturer).. i thought the bike was just a show piece and that the guy didnt know the problems arising from an improperly tuned exhaust.. but to my surprise, the bike ran like a dream.. and it was beautifully silent at part throttle and deliciously throaty at full...performance was also fairly improved.. bike kinda leaped ahead every time the throttle was opened again, no backfiring on deceleration, no alien noises from cylinder head, no shoddy welding work.. everything was neat, tidy and professional... and to my amazement, the muffler (which comes with in built DB killer and sexy to look at) cost only 2700/- after everything.. brilliant! here is a tuned exhaust which works brilliantly yet costs less than half of joel's.. i am terribly confused as to which i should go for..
Never ride faster than your guardian angel can fly

Well in that case i would suggest u give it to service center n tell em to solve it. I wont be able to comment on this much without seeing the actual prob.....have never experienced it before.
