Okay, will check it up asap. One of the service persons showed me a nice little trick to make the headlight dual beam. Its so easy...you just need to make the bike stationary at some place, where u can see the throw of the headlight, then adjust the high/low beam button on the handlebar to the centre, fiddle with it for a few seconds until both the lamps glow together. Keep it like that.Thats it!Originally posted by muztariq View Post

^^^ +1 ... Definitely will fry the switch . Not a good idea at all .
P.S : Guys , battery is done for , takes about 5-7 attempts to start up the bike . get only a click sound and no crank ... Last time this happened about 3 cells were completely dry ... Have been checking every week since then and now it's gotten too bad ... What options do I have for a new battery ? stick with the stock ? mine is "Minda" , Is there a compatible one in Amaron ?People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Oh Shit!Originally posted by shv18 View Postnot a good idea. you may end up damaging the switch...
I was happily doing it till now...if the switch fries up due to this, can I claim it under warranty? I think its possible, right?
Having another minor issue...though I don't know whether its an issue at all or not---when the bike is going over bumps/uneven surfaces, along with the suspension, the right side of the handlebar also vibrates quite a bit.Like I can feel the vibration on the right side of the handlebar. I experienced this on one person's FZ-S few months back. I never had this problem on my Pulsar. Is this a problem actually or can it be fixed?
Taking a sliding turn on the Fazer is too good, fells like a sportsbike IMO,love her so much!

There would be no problem in the switch.. Be assured!! Neither the warranty of the battery gets voided. I am using this setting from nearly 10 months of my ownership. 10 km day time without lights and 10 km night time with both lights on!! There is no effect on the battery too. But as your battery is low try not to blow both lights together for initial 10-15 days, like I did.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostOh Shit!

Welcome aboard the cruisers which can dip to touch the ground! But, first practice a lot at slow speeds while dipping the bike.. you should know how much radius you require and how to apply brakes when dipping the bike on curves. My first 2-3 dips were awesome but on the fourth dip on the same stretch I got off the road and thankfully there was some good space to control the bike or else I would have been long gone!!
The major problem with the fazer and fz is that the ride and acceleration is so smooth that you don't realize at what speed you are riding.. until you see the speedo
I also hope you are taking breakin precautions.
Regarding your steering problem, I think you are trying to judge these things too early.. Live with the bike for a month or so.. get used to it and then we will talk!!

Bro, I used to read a lot of your posts in my early fazer or even before fazer days.. You are the same guy which has a helmet profile pic!!
First of all thanks for the posts as it helped me a lot in gathering more info on the bike!
Coming to your battery problem, I am not having good experience with amaron bike batteries (dry). I installed one of them in my old splendor and it went kaput in the first month itself! Though they gave another new one within 5 working days but why take chance and lose time and effort. I think in bikes Exide and the stock Minda is a good option. In cars and invertors, amaron/amar raja whatever you call them are one of the preferred options!Last edited by muztariq; 01-22-2012, 03:55 AM. Reason: Forgot to mention the the amaron battery was a dry battery

... Glad to be of help .
Was just looking at options , right now on a big budget constraint so price factor plays a major role in determining which battery i would go with . the stock one has lasted me 2 and a half years , so that is also fine by me .
Regarding the switch on the Fazer , keeping it in between to light up both bulbs is not a good idea because the contact points will not be flush and it will be a loose contact so the chances of it getting fried are higher ... The setup can can be done in a safer way too so might as well get that done .People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

Ultimately choose the battery which you can get replaced easily if something goes wrong.

.....
else you can buy from a battery stockist if either you or any friend knows
him well...
