Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Don't mix mineral with FS oil, as both these have different properties and the oil would degrade much faster without giving optimum performance.Originally posted by Aakash Singh View PostOK thanx Friend ,do u mix any mineral oil with this oil or just pure motul 7100. Why do you want to use V2 chain set on the bike ? Go for the stock setup.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Use rear sprocket of R15v1. It has 42 teeth.Originally posted by Aakash Singh View PostI want short gearing for better acceleration.
There will be loss in top end and put more stress on the chain. But the initial acceleration would be much better.

Do you know the no. of teeth in stock v2 sprockets ?Originally posted by Aakash Singh View PostTop in Delhi has no use. I want balance between mileage and power. If i use R15 may be there huge decrease in mileage of bike. As my bike need full chain set replacement can i use full chain set of V2 FZS. Thanx for quick reply.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Okay okay . i didn't knew that.Originally posted by Aakash Singh View Post41 in rear and front is same as old.
Then go with this setup, but the change of just one teeth at the rear won't give much noticeable increase/decrease in acceleration.
Ride safe and have fun.

There will be slight decrease in mileage, a couple of kms less maybe.Originally posted by Aakash Singh View PostIf i use R15 rear sprocket what will be the decrease in mileage, my fzs was currently giving 40kmpl.
Btw, 40km/L is quite good for fz.
You should go through 'World of sprockets' thread in Universal section. It will help you understand all this in a much better way

Ha ha my bike dealer also not believe me when i say to him that my bikes mileage is 40. Friends thanx for reply. I'm glad that i've joined this committee.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostThere will be slight decrease in mileage, a couple of kms less maybe.

And one last thing can i go for full R15 chain set or front and chain of fzs and rear of R15, i think R15 V2 and v1 has same chain set. And do ngk make iridum spark plug for fzs because in Delhi all dealer denied for it.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
That i can't say, as I haven't tried the setup. As you would have to buy the whole chain-sprocket set, try for yourself and let us knowOriginally posted by Aakash Singh View PostHa ha my bike dealer also not believe me when i say to him that my bikes mileage is 40. As for ngk iridium plugs, their 'increased' performance in our smaller engine is debatable. If you want good reliable performance, change the stock plug every 10-12k kms and leave the rest.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Iridium alone will not give you any boost in performance, with iridium you need high power ignition cable, it's a waste of 500/-rs., just stick to the company specified spark plug and change it accordingly.Originally posted by Aakash Singh View PostHa ha my bike dealer also not believe me when i say to him that my bikes mileage is 40. If above pointers are fine, get the carb cleaned. Also, do you ride a lot on reserve? If so, avoid doing it.
Cheerz!!
