  • Re: FZ-S starting trouble

THanx Friends for suggesting me Motul 7100 4T 20W50. Now my bike feels better than when i bought. My FZS having the accelerating problem since the first day i bought, now feel very smooth and respond very fast.
I went to GM automobiles Delhi the best SVC in Delhi, the owner of the showroom is very friendly and trustworthy, plus you can stand near the mechanic when he was servicing your bike.
The following things i changed during this service
    1) Both valves
    2) Head Grinding
    3) Clutch Plates (Changed on my request) strange they worn out after only 15k KM
    4) Clutch Boss (Don't know what it is plz tell me if anyone knows it)
    5) Clutch wire Broke after servicing when i went 2-3 km far from svc.
    6) Both accelerator wires
    7) Leg Guard
    8) Engine Oil (motul 7100)
    9) Disk Pad

Now the bikes run better than when i bought it and Vibration is reduced to non after using the motul even after reaching +70 it feels like i'm running it at 45 and it feels that bike has lost 10 kg ha ha ha. But gear shifting feels something weird but ok for me.
    Guys Thanx for helping me.

Your dog ears are also protruding like these mirrors on your Fz. Anyhow mirrors are looking good and how is the coverage of rear in these mirrors, and have gone for repainting on your tank.

When he acts as if he is very alert in front us his ears goes straight up. When he does some naughty thing it goes in the reverse direction. Well the apache RVM is more effective than ours. The old paint faded so I did a repainting using spray cans.

My FZ-S is having starting toruble.
When I start my bike It starts but when I accelerate the engine is halting for no reason.
I checked the spark plug and also ensured that there is no blocking in the air filter.
Check for water in petrol tank. Is the idle RPM proper or fluctuating?

          How many kms on odo?

          Cheerz!!

Go to a local garage and ask for FZ's rear bulb. No need to change the whole unit for this. Replace the bulb and you are good to go again.

                      Check for following:

                      1) The condition of spark plug, spark plug cap.
                      2) If the spark plug cap is receiving proper current or not.
                      3) Clogged air filter.
                      4) Water in petrol tank.

                      1. Condition of spark plug seems fine. There was little bit carbon deposit on the -ve electrode. cleaned it and reinstalled the plug.
                      2. how to check that?
                      3. airfilter is clean. I will install a new filter if required.
                      4. Completely drained fuel from the tank and filled with fresh petrol. Still problem isn't solved.

Now i've noticed that the bike stalls even at idle rpm (~1400rpm) when it gets hot. while riding ~2500RPM it doesn't respond to my throttle input, backfires and shakes the whole bike like engine is dying from fuel starvation. I have to always keep my rpm above 3000 to avoid this issue.
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

Your bike is running on lean mixture, get the carb cleaned and set it to correct AFR.

Voltage fluctuation near spark plug can be detected by placing a electric tester on the spark plug, tell the SVC guys to check it.

IMO, the only thing issue I can see in your bike is that, the bike is running very lean.

Does running lean reduces fuel efficiency? My bike is returning 30-34kpl, down from 42-45 i used to get before. There is no change in pickup

It should increase the FE and not decrease. Check for clogged Air Filter.

Last air filter change? Last engine oil change? What grade of engine oil are you using? Have you placed anything infront of the engine, like thin sheet to prevent water splashing?

Never changed air filter so far. Will change it next week during service as manual suggests replacement every 12000km. Current odo reading is 11800km
Engine oil and oil filter was changed at 10500kms (oil is 1300kms old)

In manual they try to recommend in a generic way. Depending on the daily riding conditions Air-Filter may have shorter or longer service period.

Same goes with the engine-oil service time.
