Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
From what I have read online, Revz-Y is hard compound, not sure if it really is. Try to find out the difference between them, before you start using one.Originally posted by sathishholla View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yes that's true..... Revz Y coming stock on Fz V2. Is way better than older Revz....
I recently had switched to Ceat ZOOM XL (Dhoom 3) series 140/70 tyre which looks 120/80 on my fazer rim..
Personally feeling regret of opting this.. but none of the Stock size tyre are available in market...
there's a alot of choice b/w140/70 but not in 140/60
But Yesterday i came to know the availability of revz Y from Authorised Yamaha Dealer here in Himachal. He further added that the new tyre is always in shortage.. They had ordered 20 tyres but received only 4 of which Only one was remaining with them...
Sorry i forgot to ask the Price of particular tyre..... one more thing about Revz Y is slightly round when sits on rim unlike flat older revz...
Actually revz Y is the only best substitute for revz...
Pros.
Slightly harder compound (best thing) as revz was more prone to puncture being much softer compound..
Long life in comparison to revz as of hard compound
Cons.
Looks slightly thin from revz.
The best thing is that the
Handling remains same since it 140/60
but mine CEAT 140/70 is giving me odd feel....
So fellas better go for Revz Y....

For me, i feel Michelin Pilot Street radial is far better than MRF, its a different league altogether and it fits perfect. Just see my review of it.Originally posted by Ankur1518 View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I have done 3k kms on my revz-m which is 2 months old, revz-Y wasn't available then. Had been to mrf authorised outlet to buy a new rear tyre for another bike, where i noticed 3 types of new revz ones! M,Y & C . The thread pattern of C was different though, more like one on r15! As per the dealer, M-medium compound, Y-hard campound , both having a curved profile. I have no issues with my revz-m, its way better than stock in my view. Yes it looks a bit small as its curved but on brighter side avoids chicken strips problem and offers better puncture resistance! I would suggest the latest revz version and revz-m cost me 3.2k at authorized outlet. Michelin pilot sport radial is a soft compound one, seems to provide excellent grip but expected to last for around 12-15k kms only and costs around 5.5k

Very Low Mileage of Yamaha FZ 16
Hi Guys,
I just got bike in the month of Jan 2014 and almost 14000 KMS driven.
Now a days, I'm getting very low mileage (in between 18 to 22 kmpl)
I do the servicing of bike at every 3000 KMS and before 3 days, air filter and complete overhauling of carb done but still the mileage does not improved.
Currently I'm using 300 V 150W50 in my bike.....Please suggest what to do?
How I can increased the mileage??

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

1) Check the carb setting is correct or not.Originally posted by veer_vishal View PostHi Guys,

2) Change the oil to 20W40 or 10W40 ASAP. 15W50 isn't liked by the FZ engine.

As devil has said, change the oil to company recommended grade.
Secondly tune the carb for correct afr.
This much mileage is not acceptable by any means.
Drop in mileage can be from many reasons.
Tyre pressure, chain-sprocket condition etc are normal things to be checked.Last edited by nadz11.ns; 08-13-2014, 12:54 AM.

Re: Very Low Mileage of Yamaha FZ 16
Dont worry about the oil Motul 300V 15w50 is the best oil you can use in FZ. Please dont listen to people suggesting you to change to 20w40. Yamaha suggests 20w40/20w50 oil. But in service manual, the oil is clearly 20w50. The 300V 15w50 oil would not impact the mileage of your bike. Your clutch plates may be worn. Try replacing them. The choke may be 'on'. You may have blocked air filter assembly or kept something like cleaning cloth or bike papers near the opening under the seat. You may be running too loose on drive chain or poorly lubricated chain or anything else.Originally posted by veer_vishal View PostThanks a ton.........one more assistance........where I can find the screws mentioned in the snap (air flow screw) etc......and as per recommendation by MOTUL, they have suggested 7100 20 w50.....wherein Yamaha have zuggested for 20w40.......what to do????

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
What is the stock no. of turns on fz carb ? N how much is it after tuning by sibun sirs method ??..
Just wanted to know because even if somebody goes wrong, he will be able to check, as his setting should be close (i.e +or- half a turn) even though his location is different.
