Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
My bike has got few minor issues.I have been asking question one after another and have been lucky to get answer every time.Hope i not irritating anyone.
One more problem here.
Bike jerks around twice usually after changing gear and accelerating and after that it is smooth.
I get slight jerk when changing gear to first from neutral only when i start to ride from standstill.
Is it because of the problem with clutch?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Do you hear some sound like "khatak". If so, change the rear wheel rubber bushing. Also, if you are using Mineral Oil, you will surely feel jerk (not a sudden jerk, but slight push). I guess the rear wheel rubber bushings have gone kaput. Change it and the problem will be resolved.Originally posted by Ishwor View PostMy bike has got few minor issues.I have been asking question one after another and have been lucky to get answer every time.Hope i not irritating anyone.

Do you suddenly accelerate the bike by twisting the throttle? If so, avoid this practice.
Cheerz!!The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Yes i am using yamalube mineral.Thinking of upgrading to ss next time.
Usually i avoid sudden acceleration.
Will ask svc to look for rubber bush.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
If you are switching from Mineral to SS, don't use the Yamalube SS oil, it is not good (personal view). Go for Shell, Motul if you get it.Originally posted by Ishwor View PostThanks

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
my FZ16 has done 10k kms and rear tyre is getting damaged from right side. it seems as if its cutting as i ride the bike. i have seen this with many FZ. SVC engineer says there may be some problem with swingarm, but i doubt as i have never missused and hardhit my bike on road. Anybody else facing the same issue. Any help.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
On 2nd December, my bike turned 2. Feeling happy by this feeling of closeness with her (yea, i call my bike as a female, so tender yet can be brutal as hell)
I am not going to write things that aren't true, but we all know what a bike FZ really is. Inspired by the magestic FZ1n, the baby FZ truly follows its father's footsteps. Yamaha at heart, which in itself is enough to tell about the bike. This is my 2nd bike and the first to be for so long with me. The previous one was also Yamaha (R15v1)
Enough with this blabber, let me put my 2 years experience with my beauty in short words.
Current odo stands at: 237**kms
Pros:
- Excellent handling - be it the city traffic, highways or the twisties, this bike really gives the rider a level of confidence that makes up for a pleasurable ride
- Awesome acceleration - for the engine capacity it has, the amount of acceleration it produces is really good.
- Muscular looks - looks are awesome. Anyone can tell from a distance that a FZ is coming.
- Minimal ownership cost - apart from regular servicing and other consumable parts, there isn't much
- Tension free ride - no oil leaks, vibs or anything.
- Stock tires stick really good to the road - the stock tires are really good. Sticky and wide.
Cons:
(Not actually cons, but still, could improve on these)
- Low top-end compared to others. I have managed 113km/h a few times though.
- Comparatively low mileage - yea, it needs to improve on this. I, from day one till now got in the 30-35 km range per litre. Not that much of a problem, but more would have been better.
- Puny horn, stock headlights - well these two $uck big time. Had changed both of them to my liking.
Engine oil used: Yamalube Mineral till 22k. Now using Motul 300v
Parts changed:
- Rear tyre at 19k
- Air Filter at 12k
- Chain-sprocket at 12k
- 2 handle bars (due to small falls, my fault)
- Fork oil at 22k
- Rear brake pads changed thrice and front once
Will replace the chain-sprockets soon, along with the air-filter. The front tyre seems like it can continue for the time being, but needs replacement in the next 5k kms.
Overall, my time with this beauty has been really awesome.
This bike holds a special place in my heart.
Yes Yamaha.
Ride safe and have fun.
Regards
Nadeem

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Phew!! good to see the thread back.
Can the Fazer windshield be used on FZ? Has anyone used it? If so, what are the pros and cons for the same? Also, what T-Spanner do we require to open oil filter cap bolts and driver sprocket bolt?
Cheerz!!The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.
