Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I tried this one out too. Had the headlights running for about 45 KMs in the night. Still it didn't got evaporated. So Y'day went to a local mechanic in JC road, Bangalore. He said he will remove the headlight cover and refix it again with a strong adhesive. Cost me 250RsOriginally posted by snehithpereira View PostTry keeping the headlight on for a lil time while the bike is running, the heated reflector should make most of the moisture evaporate.
(Typical of JC road)
Y'day it rained here, and had taken out the bike during that time. For now, I don't see any water going in into the headlight.

Re: Sprocketing fz16 to under gear
Guys, i am hearing a strange 'hissing' noise coming from the rear or middle part of the bike. I am not able to locate exactly from where it is coming.
You might remember the noise that used to come from the bicycle pump while filling the air. Its like that, also like metal to metal contact.. 'Tisss hisssssss' like that
i mostly hear it when i am riding at slow speeds (30-40kmph). There is not punture or air leaking, the brake shoe are fine. I started hearing this from a few days back.
I think its coming from the rear wheel, as it becomes more when i increase the speed and at very slow speed, it feels like its taking turns with wheel..
any idea what it might be ?
Ride safe and have fun.

Checking rear wheel bearing and cush drive might help.Do you hear it when driving higher gear and slow speed.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostGuys, i am hearing a strange 'hissing' noise coming from the rear or middle part of the bike. I am not able to locate exactly from where it is coming.

Not in high gears, i keep the speed and gears in proportion.Originally posted by Ishwor View PostChecking rear wheel bearing and cush drive might help.Do you hear it when driving higher gear and slow speed.

at high speeds, i don't hear it due to wind noise. But at slow riding, its quite audible.
will get them checked.

Re: Sprocketing fz16 to under gear
hey guys...m observing a squeaky sound from the rear side of bike....the squeaky sound comes when i run thru a speed breaker or pot hole.......i tried the suspesion by pressing the bike while standing...i could not hear the squeaky sound then....but when i sit on the bike and actually press the bike down i can hear the sound.....i m not able to pinpoint exact location....but it can be from swing arm or mono-shock....not sure...has anybody experienced this?
----consecutive posts auto-merged-----
buddy have u replaced ur stock battery??.. then only go for above method else use a relay......i had done it but its draining my battery fast.....i had to replace my tail lamp and parking lamp to LEDs so as to support the load......main impact will be observed in the horn....after few mins of illumination of dual lamps the horn will sound like dat of Tata Nano....just a warning...Originally posted by arijitmaniac View PostThanks a lot brother!! Looks like the same problem as mineOriginally posted by vimal_hbk View Posthey guys...m observing a squeaky sound from the rear side of bike....the squeaky sound comes when i run thru a speed breaker or pot hole.......i tried the suspesion by pressing the bike while standing...i could not hear the squeaky sound then....but when i sit on the bike and actually press the bike down i can hear the sound.....i m not able to pinpoint exact location....but it can be from swing arm or mono-shock....not sure...has anybody experienced this?
But i don't hear it while standing still, only when the bike is moving.
can't figure out from where the sound is coming.
as the other member has mentioned, do get those things checked.

ohkk....then ours issue is not same...mine is not continuous.....it comes only when i go thru pothole or speed braker....its like dat squeaky sound which comes from old vintage cars when u open or close their door....and in my case noise is coming from centre portion of the bike..not tyres...i had sprayed WD40 on mono-shock and nearby area after the rains...is it because of that???Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostHehe.. Re: Sprocketing fz16 to under gear
I get "thud thud" sound when i pass thru a pothole or something like that. I don't think using WD40 will generate such noise.Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Postohkk....then ours issue is not same...mine is not continuous.....it comes only when i go thru pothole or speed braker....its like dat squeaky sound which comes from old vintage cars when u open or close their door....and in my case noise is coming from centre portion of the bike..not tyres...i had sprayed WD40 on mono-shock and nearby area after the rains...is it because of that???
