Also, the difference in performance will be marginal due to the fatter tyre.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi ,
Thanks for the comments guys. Just now the Previous owner called me for name transfer things. He mentioned that he changed the fuel sensor 3 times before it seems.
In Petrol pumps, while filling the petrol, the force (Pressure) from the nozzels makes the float sensor fail it seems.
But i am not sure about that, because almost many FZ owners who see their Sensors working fine.
So whether this is worth spending on for Fuel sensors.
And also planning for a good paint scheme for my FZ16. Approximately how much will it cost for the entire paint change. Whether we can register these modifications legally and endorse in RC book.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I am having exactly the same issue.Mine is used 2009 model.Originally posted by joyful_Rider View PostHi Guys,
I got an used 2010 Model Yamaha FZ16 which have done around 29000 kms. This is the first time i am riding FZ16 model bikes.
Replaced Engine Oil to Motul, Air Filter,Oil Filter,Wheel Bearing front and some cosmatic changes. Fuel signal is always blinking even if the tank is having more than 5 litres).
Does it ruin the entire display if i leave it this way cause the fuel meter keeps blinking all the time.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
It is a common problem amongst Fuel sensors across all FZs/Fazers and there is no solution to it. Follow the simple tankfull to reserve method and once you get the idea of the average consumption you need not be bothered with the fuel meter rather just taking a peak at the trip meter will give you an idea about how much futher you can go..Originally posted by Ishwor View PostI am having exactly the same issue.Mine is used 2009 model.

You are great help for fz community.
Thanks for the information regarding air induction system and now about fuel sensor.
If it does no harm then i will leave the sensor this way but the fuel indicator blinks all the time.Is there any way to shut it?

Re: Problem with my yamaha FZ S
Thanks a lot!!! I will check the brake show spring and see if that works.. Also will check the exhaust.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostCheck for the brake shoe spring. Incase it is faulty or broken, the shoe will rub against rim even if you dont apply the brakes. Also, check for any damage to the exhaust (very rare chance). Under normal usage of rear brake, the rim does heat up. This is normal for all automobiles.

The bike won't start in gears unless the clutch is pulled..
if it isn't stating even with the clutch pulled, then its a problem and get it checked..
also follow the run-in process properly..
Ride safe and have fun.

Ofcourse, the clutch was pulled before trying to start. So its a problem it seems.
Regarding the run-in process, I was told to keep the rpm between 4-5k in all gears - thats all.
Any other suggestions?

Bike should not have any problem in starting in any gear..
Ya.. You doing it fine.. Just keep varying the rpm.. Don't ride at constant speed.. Keep it varying..
And go for servicing at the right time..
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Problem with my yamaha FZ S
On the clutch lever mounting assembly next to the clutch wire you can see another wire connected to the mount. That is the switch which detects if the clutch is disengaged while starting the engine. Many times this switch is loose. It happened to me too but in my case the engine used to start in gear when the clutch was released. Try posting that switch into the mount properly and then check. If you still have problems then most likely the switch is faulty. Take it to the SVC.Originally posted by arsenalfan001 View PostThanks for the reply buddy.

And yes your run in is fine. As mentioned by fellow riders, make sure you vary your speed.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
It is not recommended. As per other fellow members who have used, it isnt worth using. Also, if you install aftermarket Air Filter, your warranty will be voided.Originally posted by aksh View PostI have yamaha fzs .. I bought it 4 months back
It is not giving expected power pickup.
And I want to install K&N air filter.
Which model is preferable?
Should I go for it or not ?
N what are the consequences of this filter ??

Re: Problem with my yamaha FZ S
I will get it checked in the Yamaha Svc, but that will take some time. Just tell me one thing though, if the switch is unable to detect if the clutch is engaged or not, is it, anyway, going to harm the engine and/or the gearbox?Originally posted by arijitmaniac View PostOn the clutch lever mounting assembly next to the clutch wire you can see another wire connected to the mount. In your case, No.Originally posted by arsenalfan001 View PostI will get it checked in the Yamaha Svc, but that will take some time. Just tell me one thing though, if the switch is unable to detect if the clutch is engaged or not, is it, anyway, going to harm the engine and/or the gearbox?

Your bike is not starting even after the clutch is disengaged. This means that the switch is preventing an engine-start. Engine damage may occur only when the switch allows the engine to start when the clutch is released. This will give a massive jerk to the bike as the engine is "connected" to the wheel. This causes massive stress on the drivetrain (gearbox, chain etc) and doing this frequently will definitely damage the engine and drivetrain.
This is what was happening in my case.
Hope that helps
