Oh I booked mine before the reviews...!!
The problem is...you expect a certain amount ...even if it is low... you cant expect something of the order of 25-32kmpl....!! from a bike which gives power equal to something which gives around 55Kmpl...with same or better performance numbers.

      1. Driving style - too rash, quick accel and decels... (I personally drive a tad on the aggressive side in city, never exceeded 85 on highways, but I get decent mileages.)
      2. Fuel quality - Try different petrol bunks. Shell in b'lore is usually the best. But i've filled er up this time with Speed from BP. Got a whopping 119km for the 5th block (Now if some one could decode how much fuel is in the 5th block we'll know the real picture). But even it represents 3L (which I doubt) it translates to just under 40kmpl.
      3. Maintainance - U sure about the lubes and other stuff. (I reckon u r but just adding to my short list). Please check the tyres too. I check em once every 75km or so... (At one point when I had a puncture repaired was checking every day)
Well Phenom my driving style is not rash type i drive slow but also then i got average of 20-25 then i thought no profit of driving slow try some fast and improved the average by 10-15 kmpl ang got 35 straight away.
Also i maintain bike properly and will go to svc tomorrow and check what is the problem with the average. Will post review tomorrow

Well buddy i was charged 30 Rs for oil change including oil filter element cover bolts due to slipping. I think it will cost 10-20 rs.

They are complaining coz they arent getting what other FZ owners are getting. Of course the rear wheel is going to hit us quite bad in FE, from what I've read on this thread itself low to mid 40s should be normal and some guys have hit 50s too (though i think that was on the highway..). But quite honestly lot of factors have to be considered for FE. Guys there was this thread by the mods on maintaining good FE (think it was by Aryan). Please have a look at that. I did find it useful (though I dont follow all of em )
thanks dude, that was all what i wanted to convey, I am more worried abt the Service quality..... nobody goes to service center expecting a drop in mileage after a service and oil change.... i've read through the almost all the post in the thread and heard many complaining abt drop in mileage after 1st service... in my case i felt even lack of smoothness after the servicing..... this is where i feel yamaha is lagging behind in india...

get a crash guard from jc road asap..it spoils the looks but you would have to pay double the amount for repairs if you ground your bike(i hope you dont!!) ..the svc guard is around 200bucks more than in jc road so i would suggest you to hop over to jcr..
and yes almost forgot congratulations buddy.. you wont regret your choice

                          • well i didnt install a K&N but i did install an UNI filter. The performance was amazing. The bike breaks traction in first two gears. However i didnt rejetted the carb so she runs out of breath at high rpm. But if the jetting is right then she will really goes like stink.

That fat tyre breaks traction? On what sort of road surface? Hope gravely!
