Where is JCR? SVC guard you are referring to is the same crash guard?Originally posted by pali View Postget a crash guard from jc road asap..it spoils the looks but you would have to pay double the amount for repairs if you ground your bike(i hope you dont!!) ..the svc guard is around 200bucks more than in jc road so i would suggest you to hop over to jcr..
and yes almost forgot congratulations buddy.. you wont regret your choice
@all - thanks for the wishes! Today 6 PM I am getting the bike. 31 Dec. What a day to get it on!

Congrats. Truly a new year's gift. Though looking out of the window its gonna be a damp new year here in b'lore. In case you are buying the bike from Perfect Riders then its the parallel road to the deale. In case you are buying from other dealers then I believe you'd have to travel some distance..Originally posted by netbramha View PostWhere is JCR? Hello and a happy new year to all my fellow fz owners.
I guess mine would be the first prob of 2010. My fz 16 has done 3000km and the chain has started rusting. The @#$% service centre people told that it is perfectly normal and won't affect the normal operation. But is there any thing for concern?
I wash the bike regularly with water and the chain is wet occasionally. Should I buy the yamaha lube and chain cleaner of Yamaha itself? ARe there any other products available for the o-ring service?Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

Motul lube and cleaner is supposed to be good. Didnt know Yamaha had their own lube and chain cleaner though...Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...

yeah man , the rusting of the chain is a common occurence in the FZ , the SVC themselves would clean n lube it for 100rs , else u can get the lube urself , doesn't necessarily have to be yamaha lube , i've been using kerosene to clean the chain , then lube it with one i got from JC Road , i do it every week an haven't had any problems with the process till date ...People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

all the FZ's......
you need not buy yamalube and chain cleaner, lucky if you find it, you can
buy any aftermarket products like motul and OKS....
Though yamalube is the best quality, i wont bother for much....
cheers
I wouldn't bet on that...uh uh...

Got the brand new FZ!
Got the beast on Dec 31st night.
Quick thoughts
1. Awesome looks and great power/rev up.
2. Pillion riders actually felt more comfortable than my earlier bike passion plus
3. Engine is sooo silent!
4. A bit worried about my formal shoes since I will need to gear up and down using the same lever. Anybody faced this problem? Any work arounds?
5. I have not put any grips on to the handle. Finding the std a bit hard and uncomfortable. Any suggestions for a good grip?
6. Seating is a bit uncomfortable if I sit a bit behid. ( I am 5.11" ) It's ok if I sit very up close to the tank. Any good seat covers should help me out? suggestions?
7. I so hate the front number plate, spoils the beauty of the bike. Is there a rule to keep it at all? Can we just not knock it off? :P
Look forward to share my experiences further!
Happy new folks, have an exciting year ahead!
