Total cost Quoted was 2000 Rs. I want my bike to be good as new.. Does Servicing the forks impact the ride ?? should I go for a replacement.. ??
Fix Crash guard by spending 500 Rs.. I could have saved 2000 bucks.. :-)
check whether if there is any change in Handling and fork suspension of the bike after repairing the fork..if you are not satisfied, replace it.... how much is handle bar??..

Sorry to hear about the fall, but 80kmph on a U Turn is too much to digest!Originally posted by Alex Ninan View PostClocked around 8000 + kms on ODO. Had my First fall yesterday..
I was taking a sharp U Turn on a bad road , pretty Fast.. around 80 Km/hr+.
I had to bend down so hard that my knees touched the road and the road was filled with sand. Bike started skidding and the Worst thing I did was to apply the Brakes.. Doesnt remeber anything else... :-)
Came to senses when few guys came running , picked up the bike and picked me up also.. To my surprise , there was not much scratch on the bike but the Handle Bar took the Full impact of the fall. Didnt have a crash guard fitted yet..
Took her to the service center today and they reported a Bent Handle bar and Bent front Forks. :-( . I asked them to replace whatever they want. but the SVC guys told that they can correct the Front fork bend by using " Hydraulic press " and replace handle bar and some other components

Imp point every one.. Always wear a Helmet.. it saved my life..

Yes, get the crash guard installed 1st thing. If R15 had crash bobbins, it would have saved me Rs.1200 due to a fall in the 1st month when someone tipped it over in my parking!
Coming to the fork repair, its safe enough to get it done. Ensure the repair was done properly though-check the fork action well (hope you know how to do that). As for the hydraulic press, its done locally too, for about 1/10th of the cost the showroom guys quoted you.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Leave both hands at a safe speed&road-check if the bike is going straight. If pulling to one side, it means fork is not throughed correctly. Also check springing action by pressing front brake&compressing forks downwards-they should go down without any sound/obstruction&also rebound upwards eagerly. This should do.Originally posted by Alex Ninan View Post.. Yea Buddy.. Even I am wondering now how stupid I am to take it that fast... Tried to pull off a stunt... but failed results... :-).. Bad News Guys
Hi Guys,
More Bad News..
Even Mushroom puncture is NOT foolproof solution for fixing an FZ tyre.. I got 3 mushroom punctures done 3 months back and to my horror, all seemed to be leaking.
MRF is giving me two choices -
a) To get a new having same features as it has now for 150 odd rs and return the old one.
b) To get a new tyre (which they have specially designed for FZ after all the complaints) and get it for half the price and when tyre life is over, then rest of the price will be returned.
I am in dilemna what to do. please help.SAVE TIME....SEE IT MY WAY

but even a bent handle could make the bike to go in a crooked line right?Originally posted by Sarvajit View PostLeave both hands at a safe speed&road-check if the bike is going straight. correct me if im wrong..
im asking this because i had a minor fall a week back and my handle was bent by a very little angle.. the mech said he would get it set right but im not sure if he got it done..
so i tried this method and my bike was not going in a straight line..
but the catch is i felled my bike on the exhaust side but the bike kept tending to the left when i took my hands off the bike(it should be to the right as the handle would have bent to the right when i fell!)
or is it because of fork?i had my left fork 'hydraulic'-aly pressed after the fall..signature not found..

does insurance does not cover this
i think insurance does cover the cost, if the accident is caused by skidding or self banging
