  • Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S

    Guys,

    Need one help.
Yesterday I saw that there was some moisture inside the headlight following a routine wash. I thought it would go off. But it's still present today.
Anyone knows how to remove this moisture present inside the headlight ?

Try Parking in sunlight. The moisture should go.
I have never faced issue of the moisture in the headlight but my wristwatch often gets moisture inside the dial. An hour of exposing it to the sunlight brings it back to the normal.

        Thanks Gaurav,

I did try that out yesterday after your reply. It did reduce the moisture a bit except for the sides. Was happy and put it back in shade. But then, in shade the moisture cropped up again.

Try keeping the headlight on for a lil time while the bike is running, the heated reflector should make most of the moisture evaporate.

Are there any folks out here who have done an all Black paint job on their FZ/Fazer? I will be doing it soon on my Fazer so was looking for ideas/inputs before I go ahead.

the easier would be to just the black parts and only paint the tank.. would cost you some 4-4.5k..
btw.. how much would it cost to paint all ?

              Ride safe and have fun.

What is the current paint scheme?? You will have to scrap the old paint and apply a new coat. Get it done from someone who has goood hand in painting. Else, the paint will chio off very soon. What all are you going to paint??

                Cheerz!!

I've been quoted 7-7.5k for the whole thing. Every part will be removed and the chassis, engine, the body will all be painted.

It is the first black colour scheme of the Fazer, the 2010 colour scheme.

I'll be painting the whole bike to be precise. :P

                      Man.. That's costly..
And since your bike is black in the first.. You just need to colour a couple of parts.. Rest is black by default.. The rims are black.. The engine also..
even if the paint is fainted.. Just get the new parts.. Would be much much better than painting.. Also you would save some ₹₹
you just need to paint the grab rails and the front forks (the lower part)
and on the exhaust.. Change the cover to black.. Costs some ₹300

                      Rest upto you..

The paint has faded to a great extent man and this rainy season has caused a lot of rust to creep into the inner parts of the bike. I'd rather get the whole thing done than get a few body parts changed.

I'll be visiting 3M's workshop tomorrow, even if they charge more, at least I'll be assured of quality stuff. Let's see.

Ohh.. Then better get the coating done..
but i would suggest you to paint the frame n all.. And get the other parts new.. just a suggestion
And it would give you a better chance to check it throughly..
                          Good luck with this..

Just getting the parts alone is pricey compared to getting them painted. The tank alone costs somewhere around 2000 bucks. So I think getting it painted would be a better bet.

                              Hi Guys,
I got an used 2010 Model Yamaha FZ16 which have done around 29000 kms. This is the first time i am riding FZ16 model bikes.
Replaced Engine Oil to Motul, Air Filter,Oil Filter,Wheel Bearing front and some cosmatic changes. Fuel signal is always blinking even if the tank is having more than 5 litres.

Actually previous owner has fitted 140/70 Size rear tyre which is looking bit different. Can anyone say whether this will reduce the Engine performance of the bike.
Already i am getting around 48 kms for 100 Rupees Petrol. (1 Litre Petrol Cost is around 76 INR).

That meter has gone bonkers. If I am not wrong, only a replacement can save it. It is a prevalent trait that I have seen on most FZs including mine.

                                All izz well!
I run on the same profile and I am running smooth in all aspects other than the tyre properties.
