How many Kms bike can be ridden without having to stop for engine to cool off?
I'm planning a 350km long journey & I don't want to stop in between. "Endurance test for me "

Its also based on the Climate conditions where you drive. If its too hot conditions, you need to stop 100 to 120 kms once. Stop can be of around 15 to 20 minutes.
If its normal Climate and bit cool one, then you can do it in single go..

Its for you and the bike. The bike can do 110-120kms (max i have done in one go) easily without break, provided there is no traffic and you get decent speed to ride. Switch to SS or FS oil, it surely does help.

Doing 350kms in one shot will take a toll on your body. Fatigue will creep in without you coming to know. This will in turn affect your riding style, vision, braking response.

The ride will be more pleasurable, if you take short breaks after riding for 1-1.5hrs. This will help you not let the fatigue creep in. Main thing is to keep yourself hydrated while riding.

Have a safe ride.

Thanks mate.

In past, I have done 170km without stop on my 10 years old HH Passion. (Same route 350km with 2 breaks). Considering FZ is a way stronger bike, I thought to try my endurance. I wonder how people complete saddle sore if the bike itself needs a break after 100 kms.

LOL,, good one. You got us there - I had the same line of thought running, not that I can actually endure SS. It is possible after all but that's just pushing the bike and the rider. What members suggested is that it is always advisable to have a relaxed ride. But then again, we are talking endurance here! PM melroyal for his SS experience on a FZ to get better details.

Well, saddle sore is a different thing. The state of mind is in complete different state as compared to normal riding.

The break is advised so that, you don't feel fatigued. This helps to make the ride more pleasurable.

Depends upon various factors.

1. State of the bike. A well maintained bike if ridden sanely in the 80-90 kmph range (averaging 60+ over 350 kms) can do 350 kms non stop. Any more speed and the internals start working overtime and you need to give it a 20+ min break,
2. State (endurance/fitness) of the rider. Taking proper rest of 7-8 hours before the journey helps. Eat light before/during the journey. Drink plenty of water. Cold drinks are an absolute no no!

If both of the above are met, you can do 350 kms with ease. It may take you 6+ hours, but you'd have achieved your goal and that's what matters.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!

I had changed it back at 12k kms, but forgot the price and I thought it might be costlier, so asked.

I want to change a few things on my bike. A few just for looks and most are damaged.
Here is what the svc price is (labour included)

I wonder how come the labor prices remain the same? Are the labor charges set by Yamaha or the SVC set their own labor charges?

Just a suggestion, since you are already changing the levers. Why don't you go for aftermarket ones? The SVC also has some varieties of colorful levers.

Also, do we have option of metallic front foot pegs? Are they comfortable?

By any chance are you taking the front tyre and number plate from SVC?

I asked for the price with labour. Looks like they don't have any specific charge fixed. Every svc have its own definite charge. Like in one svc, they charge 330rs for paid service and in one, they ask 270rs

For the levers, the ones that svc has are for 2400rs
There are options available on net, for some 1500rs, but in am kinda tight on budget here and are not available here in the market. The present ones are slightly bent outwards, and now are causing slight discomfort.

Metallic pegs, they look cool hehe..
R15 also has them by default, so thought might try them on. I will keep these rubber ones with me only, if I feel any disconfort (vibes n all), will change back.

Ya, the number plate is for 20rs only.
And as for the tyre, since I was asking for others, thought as well inquire about the type. The price at the mrf shops is cheaper by 150-200rs than this.

Ride safe and have fun.
