Got the chain sprocket changed a month back and since then i have been noticing that, whenever i ride and slow down in any gear and if i accelerate again, i hear this strange tick tick tick sound coming from either the chain or the rear wheel area.
I went to the svc and the mech told me that since i hv a Dunlop Tuff tyre on the rear, the sound is normal as the new chain and setting have to get used to that tyre. Somehow dint agree wit him.
Secondly, when i apply the front brakes suddenly, again i hear the same tick tick tick sound coming from the rear.
To note that everythin was all good before the sprocket installation, so i believe something is either loose or its a sprocket problem or i guess something related to rubber bush as i read in the last few posts. Also, there is no problem with the bike in any way except for this tick tick tick sounds which really tick me off.
Anyone facing the same prob or can throw some light on this would be appreciated. Thanks and ride safe guys.

I am having similar problem.I am riding on 120/80 mrf nylogrip.Since it increased profile height i used r15s rear 42 tooth sprocked to decrease gearing.
Whenever i accelerate from lower speed i can hear some hollow sound coming from rear sprocket area as if something is rubbed.I can feel it on my left side foot rest too.
It gives jerk when i accelerate. But when i catch speed it become smooth.
I asked svc to check rear cush drive and bearing and found cush drive was wornout but the mechanic said bearing was fine.Below are the pics.Click image for larger version

    but still problem exist.
I took my bike to 4 other mechanics but all of them couldnt identify the problem. The rear wheel rotates freely without making any
    noise when on center stand.

I am thinking of installing the 40 tooth sprocket back again. And see what will happen.

Hope my multiple queries isnt bugging anyone.I am asking for help again becuse this problem has left me scratching my head.

When i slot gear to first from neutral before rolling on i can feel slight jerk.Svc guy says this is normal on every fz( he is friendly to me because i have been giving him tip(100-300 rs) every time i visit him.).

While riding whenever i change gear and try to accelerate i agian get nasty jerk usually twice.

When changing gear its not slik like before. It used to get changed with a single clik kind of sound before but now it fells like gear gets stuck somewhere middle and so futher force is needed to peoperly slot the gear just like neutral comes on between when changing from first to second.
I feel clutch alignment is wrong but svc guy always say "Your bike is in perfect ".

Guys, a noob query, how to determine if the handle bar is bent after a fall? I didn't feel any wobbling at speeds of 50-60kph. Also, what else has to be checked in the steering??

      Cheerz!!

To check for bent, turn the handle fully towards right and measure the distance between the handle grip and the tank and do the same towards left. It should be the same.

Incase the distance is same, will the fall affect the overall strength of the handle bar?

Then there ain't anything to worry about
If you feel the bike is not stable enough, then change it.
Also the metal is very hard and it wont show any cracks or break easily. I had a very hard fall way back and it was just bent to a small extent.
            No need to worry..

The handle bar is not easy for bends and is well-built, I have seen a Bangalore xBhpian riding his bull on FZ handle-bars - quite sturdy, what say! But it is very much possible too. My bike had hard falls but the handle-bars were intact. What worries me is that the fork cone starts making noise and becomes loose so I guess the maximum impact is borne to that. If that is also fine then I guess you need not worry.

Thanks for the reply. I had fallen on left hand side, so the max impact was taken by the leg guard (it came of it's bolts). The number plate was brushed, the puny windshield was bent, small rubber (at the end of handle grip) bit had come off the bar. But i could not make out whether it was bent or not. The bike was steady till speeds of 50-60kph. So, are there chances of any damage to the fork?? My initial guess was that, since the max impact was taken by leg guard, nothing would have happened to the front suspension.

Whoa that seems to be one nasty fall...!!! chances for damge to the forks seems minimal to me.!!

Fork damage nd cone damage usually occur due to rash pothole riding....ignorant jumps from speed breakers etc and in similar situations where the fork is in direct line of impact. here, acc to u, the leg guard took most of impact so its gud....i guess..still u can get it checked from any mechanic.....

I guess your bike should be fine. Still I would request you to look carefully and tell your service guys about the fall & ask them to take a ride. I don't have leg guard and that is why everytime I fall my handle-bar takes all the impact and indirectly the cone is affected.

My bike fell down in the parking lot to the right. Unforunately I did not have the crash guard at that time. The handle bar took all the load and it bent. the best way to check whether the handle bar is bent is
                      1. Check for any minor cracks in the plating on the handle bar.
                      2. Check whether both left and right are at the same height.

Surely it was. There is squeaky noise from the front forks (it is coming long time before the fall). I told the SVC guy to check it, he took a small ride and said "sab kuch thik hai, bike ekdum badhiya hai" and i was thinking in mind "mein gadha jo timepass karne aisa bola". So, even after telling them about problems, they just don't want to look at it. They don't want to do tedious jobs and time consuming jobs.

My suggestion is that, you better install a crash guard ASAP. It does help in many ways. Your mind is at peace knowing that if you fall, the crash guard will save you. The legs are safe incase any vehicle comes very near to you. Although i have a crash guard and when i had the nasty fall, still the whole bike fell on my foot. But, if i didn't have the crash guard, my whole leg would have been under the bike and the consequence would have been more fatal. Install a crash guard for your safety. Just for few bucks, don't compromise on safety.

Haha..!!...Just a doubt r u still under your bike's free servicing period?? the SVC guys doesn't check much during free servicing period. But as soon as u enter paid servicing they are all ears for your problems. They will check every small issue you mention as they get chance to replace if faulty. During free servicing they wont bother to check any small niggling issues like squeaks etc. At least i have experienced it here in Mumbai. Also my bike too had that squeaky noise...it used to come when u go thru some pothole or speed-breaker only.......but it went after i had replaced the fork seal and fork oil replacement due to leak.....

No bro, i am just one short of completing the paid service. Remember, sometime back i gave you Kamla Yamaha's reference for the fork seal you were looking??

OT - I sit there when my bike gets serviced. Recently, i changed my chain sprocket, the SVC guy used electric screw driver to remove the bolts from rear sprocket. The same guy used 5 different tools to remove the bolts and was jumping on the sprocket to press fit sprocket in rear hub. I was just wondering, it was matter of few feets for the SVC guy to take the wheel from one service bay to other.
