Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Oops.sorry.i meant no highway night rides with that setup since it might be that the battery gets too weak with the 120w load.do check riding at night with both beams working together.Originally posted by koushik_man View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hello all
. I live in an area which has bumpy and uneven roads, full of speed breakers and potholes. So I need decent level of suspension. Earlier my fz used to absorb the shocks abut now after 6700kms on ODO, i started to feel the shocks on uneven roads. On my previous service i asked them to adjust the spring at the back but of no use.Actually the svc guy sort of brought it down.(its a bit tightened) Should the spring be tight or loose?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thanks Speedy, but in Highway, since the RPM will be high and constant always, won't the battery will get charged eventually, which will run both the 55/60W bulbs flawlessly? But in city ride, since the RPM will be in the lower side always, the battery will not get enough charged and eventually it will fail to take the load of 2 55/60W. Maybe I am wrong, if you have any further suggestions, please reply.Originally posted by SpeedyKol View PostOops.sorry.i meant no highway night rides with that setup since it might be that the battery gets too weak with the 120w load.do check riding at night with both beams working together.

Why don't you try putting 60/55 watt on low beam and keep the high beam on stock 35 watt? The low beam on your bike will have a drastic improvement when compared to stock which is what is most important when riding on highways with the opposite traffic constantly going crazy on flashing lights to make you switch to low beams am i correct? If you by any chance have hotwired both bulbs to be functional when on high beam then your battery won't lose charge too much. The only, thing to bear in mind is not to crank the bike when the low beam/ high beam light is on or honk when the engine is non-operational and for some reason you have kept the light on.
Cheers,A quote by a toilet, " use me well, keep me clean, i would never tell anybody whatever i have seen.." :P

Cheers,
will give it a try. But, since I often ride in the Highways (week-end trips with better half), I was trying to be sure about the High beam (2 55/60W bulbs) set-up.

Thanks Speedy, my real name is Koushik, will replace the stock bulbs with 55/60W bulbs and will let you know about the feedbackOriginally posted by SpeedyKol View PostYes shv18 is correct.do that, koushik_man.it will serve both purpose flawlessly

. Whenever I am at a signal, I stitch-off the headlights and turn it on, only when in move. Think this will save some load on the battery, also thinking of changing the pilot lamp, tail lamp and turn indicators to LED's which will again save further load to the battery.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
i would advise against that. My experience.. leave stock funtional OEMs as stock besides the mod you are planning to do. Have already seen enough LED tail light etc. nonsense goin kaput in less than 6 months on FZs & Fazers in Mumbai all bought from Yamaha OEM accessories. My two cents.Originally posted by koushik_man View PostThanks Speedy, my real name is Koushik, will replace the stock bulbs with 55/60W bulbs and will let you know about the feedback

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Well, i was going to opt for the LED tail lamp. Looks like i might have to stay away from this. Thanks for the info. The LED tail lamp costs a bomb 1200 bucksOriginally posted by shv18 View Posti would advise against that. My experience.. leave stock funtional OEMs as stock besides the mod you are planning to do. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
^I have been using LED Tail Lamps & Turn lights for last 2 years, hardly any issues so far. May be the quality earlier was good. Now most of the motorcycles are coming with LED lights.
If you know little bit about LED circuits you can maintain them easily.Last edited by abhijitkn; 05-28-2013, 09:06 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I am actually thinking of making the lights by an electrician who make such mods (bikes/cars) and stays nearby. I will ask him, if he could make a custom tail lamp and indicators (LED) for my Fazer. Also, would ask you, what's your suggestion about the parking lamp? I am not a very knowledgeable person about this, but saw some guys with white LED's as parking lamp for there FZ and Karizma ZMR. What kind of LED's are those? If you have any idea about those, please help, and thanks for your suggestionsOriginally posted by shv18 View Posti would advise against that. will not go for the OEM LEDs.
I really don't know anything about any LED circuits, so it's better to assume that, if any problem appears after fitting those LED lamps, I am into deep trouble (since I can't fix). Anyways, thanks for your suggestions.Originally posted by abhijitkn View Post^I have been using LED Tail Lamps & Turn lights for last 2 years, hardly any issues so far. What kind of mods have you done? If you could give a link to your mods, it would be really helpful for me. Thanks in advanceOriginally posted by freak24shiv View Postcall me at 8981343301 for more details on this mod..i did d mod..i am d one with d speedometer..

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Ok, since the rains are nearing. Is it advisable to put a plastic cover on the speedo to protect it? Also, what can be done to protect water seeping into the fuel tank?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I want a suggestion.. I have to change the rear tyre.. Which one should i opt for..??
mine got punchered and it can't be fixed.. The mechanic tried with 4 strips, but they just came out and he said the hole is too big to be fixed..
Ride safe and have fun.
