Last but not the least . will the service centre guys entertain my doubts ?
Thanks a lot for reading this .
Congrats on getting a Yamaha !
    Enjoy the Ride

    1. The digital Meter is always buggy.
It might be just to show you that it's time to refill.
3-4L petrol must be there buy the Reserve specification must be 2-2.5L.

In my Fazer & Fz, both the fuel bars are full & keeps on blinking no matter the tank is full or empty.
    From a year now.

    2. RVM is loose ?
You mean you fix it to a position & it moves by the vibration ?

You can fix it yourself also bro or from a local mechanic too.
There's nothing to worry about it.
It's just a mirror, nothing technical.

    3. You said first service due ?
Many sounds and little faults come under 1st run in.
Just notice all of them and tell to the SVC hen you go for 1st Service.
    Don't worry.

    4. I'm telling in just normal language no technical terms.
Fazer & F comes under the low Torque machines.
Designed to take advantage of the comfort level & ride at 70-80.
If its revving very high at 4-4.5k RPM, you should tell to the SVC guy.

If a bit of them because its new + Fazer's are like that.
Changing gear on 5000RPM in Pulsar 220 seems stress less but in Fazer it seems revving at 4500 also.

    Do not worry.
You've paid for the bike and the SVC guy have to listen to you.
Tell each & every small problem and doubt you have.
And even after servicing, you can go back to SVC and say there's still some problem after service.

    Do not hesitate !!

P.S. : You can even ask here from the people for the best Service Center in area you live.

      Ah Sird . thanks a lot ..
RVM isnt loose . the problem is the angle isn't getting adjusted properly :x like i can see only my flabby stomach in the mirror I don't mind looking at it ( motivates me to exercise ) while riding :P but the purpose of seeing whats behind you isn't being served . No matter how much I move it :x
I have so many fears/doubts being the first bike .. and i really want it to last . Like a Kid with his first Toy ..i never want anything to happen to it ..
NO matter how many Cars/Bikes/Trucks/animals . on the road , you must still rely on your ability :D

Seems sird has answerd most of your queries. As for the mirror , the ball socket kind of joint.might have some damage. Since its a prety new bike ,go to the svc and ask for a replacement.
Or ask them to fix it up for you. Not a big job really.
Then never trust the digital fuel meter. The margin of error is high. If you habe narly 4lts only will it stop blinking. Below that it blink away happily.

        Cheers
        Ride safe

Yes that's the problem at the rotating ball joint in mirror as said by krish above.

Do not hesitate ever in pointing out the problems and say clearly "Abhi to nayi bike li hai, aur ye sab drama".

No one can say anything to you.

Yea the feeling of noticing a problem in a new bike sux.
No matter even if its a mirror.
But, still 2 days left for service right ?
Keep on noticing everything and throw them on the SVC guys gently first,
And if needed go a bit hard.

And I'd you see the mechanic doing anything more than loosing / tighten the Mirror Join bolts.
Ask directly, "I don't need Jugaad, replace kar".

          Happy crooning.

          Get Teflon coating done also.
It saves from scratches and other lil bit things.

          • Yamaha FZ-S.. Does not seem to be free for ride..

Hi People.. This is my thread here in XBHP.. I love this web site for various reasons and so got to join Okay.. Here is my question.. My new FZ - S which is now two months old, only one service done and ODO shows 1500 KM.. The thing is, the bike does not seem to be moving free.. It feels like something drags to you back even in the 5th gear.. One of my friend said, it will take 2-3 Services to make the engine free flow.. And also Pick up seem to be dull (from the beginning).. Air pressure before first service: Front - 36, Back - 44..On a friend advice i changed it to Front - 30 and back - 36 and its nitrogen.. Can someone please help me why the engine does not seem to be free ?? and Pick up is low ?? Thanks in advance, waiting for your answers..

              Hi Koushik,
Whether OEMs or not, LED will cause trouble if not build correctly, especially in rains. Check lighting thread for more details.
Also Yamaha's OEM LED tail light comes with 6 white LEDs which illuminates the number plate perfectly, I have not seen that in the aftermarket part, so if you'r building one, then build accordingly.
There is one guy in Mumbai who is selling the LED tail lamp shown below:

If interested then check with Nicholas Carvalho on Facebook.
Thanks a lot for the informations, will keep that in mind while building one and will also check the lighting thread

                  Welcome to xbhp.

                  Congrats on your new ride.

Hope you have followed the proper run-in procedure. The bike surely takes sometime to open up. Let the bike cover certain kms and see if you face any problems or not.

How much is the idle rpm set to? Keep it in between 1200-1500 rpm.

Bro, the air pressure what you had kept was way too high. The front should be 29psi and rear should be 33psi.

                  Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

First of welcome to xbhp and on this thread. I believe if you can be a bit patient and go through the earlier pages of this particular thread, i am 100% sure almost 70% of all your queries will have answers somewhere there.

Secondly, you should always maintain tire pressure recommended by the factory 28 psi front and 33 psi rear otherwise over inflating tires will significantly reduce the life of them. Thirdly your ride will become free moving once you finish one of two services more. Use Motul 3000V 4T engine oil, ensure that the air filter and other components are cleaned and lubed, your bikes chain is lubed at the specified interval mentioned in the manual supplied along with your bike and things will be fine.

                    Cheers,

Hi shv18, sorry dunno full name.. Reg Tyre pressure, most of my friends say to have manufacturer recommended+2psi and i have added one more to the rear. Will this affect the tyres so badly ?? In the first service used Yamalube.. which is better Motul or yamalube ?? And need one more suggestion.. Am planning to make horn to double horn and an angel light added.. Will this have an impact on battery ?? And please let me know if any of you added any of these before and feed back on the same. Thanks for your reply

                          1) Tire pressure should be 28 psi front and 33 rear.
                          2) I personally prefer Motul so check with the service center and insist on putting in Motul mineral oil. If they don't have it then after 6 free services are over then opt for Motul.
                          3) If you are planning to make it double horn then check with the SVC if cutting wires and fixing it will void warranty and insurance.. These buggers are really sneaky when it comes to taking the blame and giving out the claim. If they give a go ahead for you then i would recommend going for the Fazer dual horns.. they do the work just fine.
                          4) Don't add angel light rather if you want to make your lighting beam better then go for Osram/Halonix 60/55 watt halogen bulb which will make the illumination better. Max cost 100 bucks..

Again all these have been already discussed in detail in earlier posts..

All consumables except the labour cost are chargeable! including engine oil, oil filter, chain lubing and may be washing as well.

Hi! I have an fz. Bought fz's horn which is around 140 and fixed it beside the existing horn..(so 2 horns of the same kind). gives the same sound as fazer's. costed rs. 30 for fixing at local mechanic. fazer's horn would obviously cost more than fz's. I have been using it for the past 7000kms and no worries so far
