the clicking sound comes from the cooling of the wire mesh which is there in the exhaust. When it cools it contracts and there is friction between the layers which causes the sound...Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

anyways for those of you who are anxious to hear Joel anna's exhaust system... here is one video from a fellow bhpian who did the ffe upgrade on his pulsar 200 dtsi. the following video is done without the db killer... to me it sounds pure music..

Hi All, I am new to this thread. Yesterday purchased the Yamaha FZ S Silver red form Kolkata for Rs.73433.00. I used to ride an Apache RTR for last 3.5 yrs. This FZ fills much bigger then the RTR and smoothness of the engine is just brilliant. No Idea how long this will last? It is still in run-in period so, not crossing the 4000k mark, though I have few questions to asked you here:
1. What could be the mileage I can expect from FZ?
2. How to adjust the Headlight light beam (No info in the manual)?
3. I already have a HID set in my home, which is 35watt and that used to work on my RTR. Can I install it in the FZ, does it support? What is your views regarding HID in FZ?
4. How is the Tyre life?
Thanks in advance.

1. Mileage expected will depend upon your way of riding, but I have been getting between 35-40kmpl on my Fazer (identical to FZ except for the looks).
4. The rear tyre has come in for a lot of criticism, and my own tyre is leaking through all the punctures! According to the tyre-shop owner, this is because the steel radials don't allow to stay put! I've put up a thread about the same which is waiting for approval.

Adjusting headlight
Hi Kauria,Originally posted by kauria View Post2. How to adjust the Headlight light beam (No info in the manual)?

Congrats on your purchase. Drive safe.
I assume you want to tilt the headlight. Standing in the front of the bike, check on the right side just behind the headlight fairing you will find a bolt, which connects the headlight to the frame. On the right there is only one bolt. Use the spanner from the kit to loosen it a bit & then with little force you can tilt the headlight up & down. Once satisfied with the position tighten the bolt.

Mileage can range from as low as 25 to 45 kmpl.
Yes you can use the hid it is simple plug and play and the reflector provides a perfect cut off for it.
Under normal riding conditions the tyre should last for at least 20k kms.Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

problem
hi guys.. mine is black fazer.. the problem is while driving I get a soung "thurrrrr" from rear portion of my bike. When i told the SVC guys about this, they said the air pressure is low, and they just filled air(35 ps in rear) and said it would be fine. But again while I was driving back home, the sound was reduced but is still there. (the sound comes only from the rear part of bike, somewhere close to the rear wheel). Any one who had the same experience pls suggest what to do
One more thing, I get my bike serviced from Adarsh Yamaha(okhla phase II, new delhi); if any xbhpian from delhi can suggest any other place to get my bike serviced or any local mechanic who has full knowledge of fz/fazer..
Pls help..

congrats man i'm from kolkata and bought a fz16 in jan,11 mileage will be arround 40 (+-3) in city ride.you can find the headlight adjusting screw behind the pilot lamp.no idea about HID.Tyre life of rear will be less than front.I heard people are on their stock rubbers for 20k km also tire life depends on road condition mainly and a bit on your riding style.and the smoothness of the engine is meant to last so it will be there always unless you rip it always(because fz is less revv friendly than apache).Originally posted by kauria View PostHi All, I am new to this thread.
